What I believe to be a life changing story (to me)
Revisado: 01-31-19
I grabbed this book because of the interesting title, knowing nothing of Amanda Palmer or the Dresden Dolls. I did not except to find something so raw and honest that it could change my life. Amanda's deeply personal ideas about art and life are inspirational and contagious, showing the joys of building a community and sharing our love and imperfections with others, even total strangers. I binged this book over two days and I now have a new mentor. I want to learn to love, trust, and ask as deeply as Amanda. Thanks for sharing your life Amanda!

Couldn't put it down! (and can't kill the beasts!)
Revisado: 01-08-19
Night of 1000 Beasts is a devastating, brutal tale of survival with a relatable cast of characters. A group of friends are stranded on a mountain after an avalanche but the frigid cold is not the only thing they have to survive! There is a more haunting, ancient, mythological even, group of beasts terrorizing the mountainside. There are moments of great terror, but the fear is balanced by the characters. One can really relate to the emerging lead, Keith, who feels forgotten, left out, unloved, but has an immeasurable desire to survive, and that in itself is admirable. One can most relate to his desire to be loved, and the unrequited love he suffers while he struggles to survive an unimaginable nightmare. This is a fun read from start to finish, though, reader beware! Great horrors lie in wait for you!

Even as a person with zero interest in sports...
Revisado: 12-22-18
Even as a person with zero interest in sports, I found this to be one of the most gripping and fascinating books I read this year. It applies to anyone trying to find the limits of human capacity, whatever field you are in. Absolutely fantastic read!
