Historia
In a forgotten town on the wrong side of Texas, James Hawker stumbles into a fetid dive bar. The most dangerous vigilante in America is blind drunk, and stinks of mescal. He begs the bartender for help getting back across the border, and the man obliges - for a fee. He introduces Hawker to a pair of toughs, who chain him up in the back of a truck and begin the long trip north. Hawker has been captured by a modern-day slaving outfit - and it's exactly what he had in mind.

Author a sexist; Narrator a robotic bore!!

I read the Doc Ford series because I’m insanely nostalgic about that part of Florida (despite his gross male romance novel style). I was excited to hear something about an area of the US I moved away to, but will not be able to finish the audio version - the narrator is TERRIBLE! They might as well of had Siri or Alexa read it (would’ve seriously been an improvement and sound more natural). I hope the guy gets a gig as a robot - no other voice ability displayed here.
