Can't get enough of Harker!
Revisado: 05-11-22
I've been a fan of the Harker series since the first one was released. The snarky, foul mouth Quincy Harker never disappoints. Full of action and gore. And having Dracula as an uncle is an added bonus.
James Anderson Foster brings all the characters to life in this series. He is Quincy Harker!

Not impressed
Revisado: 08-24-19
I love the whole series of Immortals of New Orleans, but having dual narrators made it hard to follow Quintus’ story.
First, neither ever changed their tone, second, Quintus has an accent in the other books, but not in this one.
Changing a narrator who has already done the whole series is always risky but having dual narrators makes it worse.
I looked forward to buying this book but was really disappointed by the narration. Please get Ryan West back if there are to be anymore in the series.

I like this series but I don’t like Sophie. Arrogant, stupid and disrespectful pretty much sums up this character.

Creepy story
Revisado: 06-06-19
This was a good listen. The narrator did a good job with different character voices and made them come to life. This is a story of retribution/revenge, depending on how you look at it. It was interesting to see how it played out. I love Iain Rob Wright’s book and will recommend them anyone who likes a good thriller or horror read.

Historia
Since the day Lord Dillon earned his spurs, rumors of his savagery on the battlefield have preceded him into every room, stilling tongues and sparking fear. Weary of battle, he wishes only to find a woman he can wed who will approach him not with fear but with the tenderness that has been absent from his life for so long. Yet only the wisewoman seems invariably at ease in his presence.

Loved it

I was so excited to see that Marcus as a youngster was in the story. Seth, David, Roland and Robert all were a part of this story.
It was quite refreshing to see some familiar characters in a different series. I love the Immortal Guardian series and this new series compliments the beloved Immortal’s stories.

Venom's story
Revisado: 11-01-18
First, Venom didn't have an accent in any of the other books. Why did he get one in this book?
I love this series, but changing narrators in a series is not a good idea. I'm aware of issues that may have prevented the previous narrator from doing this book, but I think Cole Ferguson should have listened to the other books first to see they do not have accents, with the exception of Forge.

Historia
Cara Snow is newly divorced, stuck working for a jerky boss at a pet boutique, and dreading her soon-to-be-empty nest with only her beloved corgi for company. Worse still, her ex just got engaged. Doesn’t she deserve some romance, too? Or, at least a date for the Fur Ball. She’s always enjoyed the annual pet rescue gala, but this year her ex will be there with his fiancée. Meanwhile, Cara hasn’t met anyone — other than the irresistible dogs at the boutique’s adoption events. Cara is shocked when her wish to fall for a man as easily as she does for those mutts summons Vincent. His velour track suit, paunchy belly, and tough-guy accent don't exactly fit her childhood image of a fairy godfather. Not exactly on top of his game, he admits to being twenty-five years late.

Historia
Demonstrating once again her gift for spellbinding storytelling, Anne Rice makes real for us a great dynasty of four centuries of witches - a family given to poetry and incest, murder and philosophy, a family that over the ages is itself haunted by a powerful, dangerous, and seductive being called Lasher who haunts the Mayfair women. Moving in time from today's New Orleans and San Francisco to long-ago Amsterdam and the France of Louis XIV, from the coffee plantations of Port-au-Prince to Civil War New Orleans and back to today, Anne Rice has spun a mesmerizing tale.

Mayfair Witches
Revisado: 07-30-18
This book was a little hard for me to get into because it started off slow. After a few chapters I was hooked. The explanation for how the Mayfair Witches came to be was very enlightening and at times a little twisted. But overall the book was great and I’ll read more of Ann Rice novels.

Historia
It's not easy, being king. You can't always rule a kingdom and still do what needs to be done. Eric - or King Halar, also known as the Demon King - has more than enough problems without the crown. But quitting the job of king isn't easy, either - unless you want to be beheaded. Most people regard that as an unsatisfactory way to quit. Even vampire lords tend to be cautious about guillotines. A king who loses his head has a real problem...or none at all.

One of my favorite series!!
Revisado: 08-18-17
Would you listen to Knightfall again? Why?
I will listen again. I always pick up something I've missed in the first round and Sean Runnette is my favorite narrator. He brings life and personality to Halar and the rest of the characters.
What did you like best about this story?
I love this series. I did like the fact that questions were answered from book 3, Orb, and that Halar is trying to distance himself from being a king.
Which scene was your favorite?
All of them.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Nightlord of course.
Any additional comments?
I very much love the Night Lord series, but the one thing that could change is the over abundant amount of lengthy and inconsequential writing. There are some areas where something is explained over and over. Cut down on the over abundant rambling and get to the point. With all the lengthy explaining, the interest of the reader or listener is lost and it becomes a matter of just wanting Halar to shut up and get on to the point he is trying to make. This won't stop me from following the series and I will continue to be a Night Lord fan until the series ends.
