The message is mostly good, but I could not stand listening to any more of the really really dumb sound effects. They were very distracting. I felt like I was being read to like a toddler.

There was absolutely no content here. Nothing. Doesn’t seem to have been a goal and there doesn’t seem to be any takeaways. It was just her talking about something I couldn’t possibly care about at all. I couldn’t care about it and I couldn’t relate to it. I was trying to listen past the voice and repeated phrases, etc. and just when I thought she might be getting to the beginning of the podcast Content, it was the end. I’m just sitting here shaking my head gone what was that and wow that several minutes I’ll never get back in my life. There is not a chance at all that I will listen to a second podcast in this series.

I absolutely loved the insight and his perspective on everything from the diseases to the successes and the failures and all of that. The sense of humor is great and intact way I expected it to be. The only problem I had with any of it was, I had to slow it down a little bit because of his slight speech being slurred. But I always prefer to hear the author rather than an actor.

I enjoyed how real and normal this story was in that it could have been written by anyone I knew back then or even myself. Little details that I had forgotten about or reminded and that was fun too.

Jonathan is a great songwriter, a good singer, and a horrible reader.

That said, I tend to buy books that are read by the writers. And I am glad that Jonathan read his own book. But he seriously does not have a good feel for grammar, inflection, ends of lines versus ends of sentences, etc. But again, I enjoyed the information and minutely enjoyed the music in between the chapters.

I think this book should be assigned to every baby when it is born and read once per year, to and by, every human. No matter your religious belief, these are simply straight forward irrefutable facts of life. I have always detested the victim of life way of thinking and living. This book calls it as it sees it. Unarguably. I consider myself to be highly analytical and cautious of "theory." None of this was theory. It simply is how life works, or doesn't. It's your choice. Always is, always was.

This is a great illustration of the dynamics of parents and children. Very little had to do with this being about a celebrity. That aspect just helped me understand the huge personality parts. I really could relate to the underlying theme of family dynamic. I also came away with a small reading list of relationship books. I love when a book inspired me to read other books do I'm not left hanging.
