Historia
At 28, Stephanie Land's dreams of attending a university and becoming a writer quickly dissolved when a summer fling turned into an unplanned pregnancy. Before long, she found herself a single mother, scraping by as a housekeeper to make ends meet. Maid is an emotionally raw, masterful account of Stephanie's years spent in service to upper-middle-class America as a "nameless ghost" who quietly shared in her clients' triumphs, tragedies, and deepest secrets.

Talk about pulling yourself up by your bootstraps!

The Ramen Noodles...that hit me like a ton of bricks. Making sure your child has healthy fruits and veggies while you eat Ramen is a testament to a Mother's Love. I have been through a custody dispute and seen the good, the bad and the ugly. However through all of it, the one thing that is the constant is the love for the baby. Love was front and center in this story and that is what kept her going. I dont want to use the word "inspirational" because I feel that is overused and undervalued. So, I will say this story was full of heart, motivation and the will to better yourself. Emotions are in the forefront, but the happy ending made it worth it. Great book!

Historia
On April 20, 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold walked into Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Over the course of minutes, they would kill 12 students and a teacher and wound 24 others before taking their own lives. For the last 16 years, Sue Klebold, Dylan's mother, has lived with the indescribable grief and shame of that day. How could her child, the promising young man she had loved and raised, be responsible for such horror? And how, as his mother, had she not known something was wrong?

Living through a nightmare...
Revisado: 08-07-23
Sue Klebold was BEYOND brave to share her story. We all know about the tragic massacre that occurred, but hearing of the aftermath and those who were guilty by association was beyond heartbreaking. Sue shared her side of the story with conviction, integrity and a vulnerability that was tough to hear. There was a slight tone of "it wasn't my son" which is to be expected in an incident like this. There has to be a bit of denial in order to go about in a day to day life. I am super interested in finding out what Eric's parents think after reading this...
