I loved this book when I read it and loved it even more after listening to the audio. Greg just brings Chloe's words happily and brilliantly to life. Greg's voice performance choices are spot on and make listening to this book a fantastic immersive experience.

I just love listening to Nick perform Nicky's words. This is one of those great author and writer combos. Aslan and Quaid are just some of the best written MCs. This new universe she's created with this series is very well written. The world building has been incredible, I can just visualize the world these two live in. As always Nicky's characters are well thought out and serve a purpose to the progression of the story and it's arc. She gives Nick lots of great details to work with, when he is performing her fabulous words. A few disclaimers, if you've not read any of this series (or listened to it) you need to. Each book in the series builds on the previous one and characters carry over from each previous book. That being said I highly recommend listening to Nick narrate this book and series. Can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series.

Nicholas creates a dark, gritty world, that spawns one of the most fierce Princes in King Ara's Kingdom. As a main character in the New Haven series, it was so eye opening to see how Theoden evolved from an isolated little boy to the brilliant and masterful ruler of one of King Ara's territories. This book had me engaged from beginning to end. The worldbuilding and character development is top notch in this prequal to the New Haven series. This book is not for the faint of heart, nor anyone that doesn't enjoy a good (several) sex scenes. The world Theoden grew up in is a vicious, hard, unforgiving world that transforms from the monastic life to the unforeseen riches and pleasures of a world belonging to Vampires, Dragons, and Werewolves. Theoden was segregated from an early age, because the monks told him he was different. They were not wrong and King Ara, a vampire wanted Theoden for himself, because of his special abilities - He is half dragon.
Christian J. Gilliland was a fantastic choice to voice Theoden. He flows through the different accents that are present throughout this book. He manages to do what few can and he brings Theoden's gritty world to life and draws you in till you feel like you are enveloped and part of the world.

Confused Hearts is the second book in the A Hometown Jasper series. This series should be read in order, as it mentions characters from the previous story. I have been so excited to read this series, as I fell in love with the town of Jasper, Alberta, Canada, after vacationing in the area many times. This series is a departure from Nicky’s previous series Trials of Fear. This series is sweet, low angst, stories about discovering your true self and what makes you happy.
In Confused Hearts we meet Knox and Lucky. Knox is Easton’s best friend – who we met in book one, Clashing Hearts. As Easton and Lachlan’s relationship grows, Knox becomes more and more confused about his reactions to them as a couple. To distance himself from Easton, he starts hanging out frequently at a local bar, where Lucky works. Knox has always thought he was straight, but if he is straight, why is he so upset about Easton’s relationship with Lachlan. Lucky knows what is eating at Knox, but until Knox’s comes to terms with his feelings for Easton, they can only be friends. Lucky tries to keep things light, but Knox may be finally ready to explore these new feelings. But is Lucky going to let down his guard and let Knox in? Will Knox be able to repair his relationship with Easton? Will Knox and Lucky find their true selves? When they do will they find the happiness they deserve? All these answers and more can be found when you listen this wonderful edition to this series.
I love how Nicky develops her characters and the world they live in. Reading about Jasper brought back so many wonderful memories for me. I cannot wait to listen to the next book in this series. Nicky always brings her special touch to all her stories, with the realism of normal life and how nobody is perfect, but there is a perfect for you, person out there.
This book as with the previous book in this series, is narrated by Nick J Russo. Nick does such a great job of bringing to life the characters in this story. While still maintaining the previous books characters. All the voices are distinct and match each character perfectly. Nick channels each character’s energy and brings it to life. I genuinely loved his performance of this book. Not only was this five star read, it is a five star listen. I encourage you to check this one out.

I love this book and the whole series. I read this book when it was first published and thoroughly enjoyed meeting Lachlan and Easton. I enjoyed how much detail Nicky always includes in her stories. This book is made even more dynamic and full of life with Nick J. Russo's narration. He always finds a unique voice for each character and brings the emotion, in just the right amount. He created the perfect version of Easton's slow-mumbled drawl, Percy's voice and Josiah's way with sentences, just shines through in this narration.
This book follows Easton and Lachlan. Easton owns a large ranch in Jasper, Alberta, Canada, that is on the brink of going under. In rolls, Lachlan to supposedly save the day, by purchasing the ranch for his father's development firm. Well the sparks fly from the moment these two meet. From the hot hallway kissing to the search for Percy, these two are the definition of slow burn, enemies to lovers.
I can't wait to hear the next books in this series.

OMG, this book was fantastic. Joel brought this book to life and some of the scenes are not for the faint of heart. What an eye opening story about being gay in the 1800s. This should be a must listen..

This story really is all about the feels and the journey of our MCs. I love all the world building and character development that is presented in this series.
Our narrator - Kenneth Obi brings this couple to life and all the trials and tribulations they face. All the emotions are created in this performance. A particularly memorable scene towards the end of the book, with Travis, a side character, and Bear left me in a puddle of tears.
Another wonderful story and performance that should be on everyone's listening list.

I love this series. I think Campy and Jackson are my favorite Ballsy couple.
Kenneth's performance is fantastic as always. He always just sucks me in to the story with his different voices, that I find match perfectly to how the author had written them.

I loved this story and enjoy the different POVs through out the book.
Kenneth Obi did a fantastic job with the narration/performance of this book. He made all the voices distinctly individual, which I really enjoy. Can't wait for the next book in this series.
