I have been thoroughly loving this series!!! I have easily forgiven a couple minor inconsistencies between novels so much so that I’ve forgotten them. But what I can’t completely forgive is a rewriting of Veronica’s character to allow an ill-advised marriage of youth to an Englishman after 6 novels of stating her policies against marriage and dallying with Englishmen.

Ok, that dramatic statement delivered…. Deanna redeems this at the end (avoiding spoilers), but I just had to register my complaint. I hate when a book makes so angry, but I still had to finish the adventure of Veronica & Stoker so it’s obviously not all that bad.

Anyways, I simply removed one star for the plot problem. But I remain an enthralled reader and lover of these books. EXCELSIOR!

Superior Listening

When I went to find a Dune audiobook to listen to at first I could only find a Full Cast narrated version. I, personally, find it distracting & unpleasant to listen to a Full Cast narrated book so I was extremely happy to find this listing. It was a bonus that George Guidall is already one of my favorite narrators.
So THANK YOU for uploading this version. I have loved it.

SciFi/Fantasy is some of my favorite fiction. I also love Dystopian & Steampunk stories which this has all of.
It’s well written to keep you engaged thru the entire Trilogy. I have now listened to these books three times over & I will listen to them again.

Terrible New Narrator

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and this story finishes out the relationships that I've been watching through the three previous books, but it's REALLY hard to listen to enjoyably with the different narrator reading it. There is hardly any difference in her inflections for character dialogue and narration which leaves the characters sounding all the same and lifeless. Anna Johnstonbrown was an EXCELLENT narrator for these books and I wouldn't even finish listening to this book if not for wanting to find out what happens between Seth and Jenna.

Please don’t sing (or use more compression 😉)

I love this story & I listen to it over & over again. My only complaint is the narrator’s singing!!!
I will try to explain why I hate it because he can carry a tune and his singing would possibly be enjoyable in a different context. I think it offends my ears so much partly because the volume suddenly increases when he breaks into song and also because it disrupts the pleasant cadence of the rest of the narrative.

I still highly recommend this story to everyone. It is my favorite story of Middle Earth.

I rated this accordingly for my love of the story, but dislike of some portions of the performance as stated above.

This story has an intriguing concept at it's foundation. Add to it a suspenseful mystery & make it narrated by Zachary Quinto.... instant win!! More plz!!! 👍

Masterful

This is my third listening of the Harry Potter series. I've also read the books multiple times & I'm sure I will continue to enjoy them in all their forms for years to come.
As a lifelong bookworm, my standards of good fiction have become rather high, but ever since I discovered this series, they have been the standard bearers. J. K. Rowling masterfully weaves several threads around the main plot without dropping a single one.
On top of the masterful writing is the performance given by Jim Dale who's skills in crafting individual voices for each character brings the books to life like no other. I, personally, prefer hearing the audiobooks to watching the Warner Bros. movies.
I recommend these books to everyone of every age... They are timeless masterpieces that all can enjoy. 😃

Toothless...

Toothless may have begun to exist in this story, but the Dreamworks movie have him life & dignity. I saw & loved the movies before listening to this book & I enjoyed the book (except for the music & sound effects between chapters that I just found incredibly disruptive & irritating), however I loved the movies more. Audible reader, if you are hoping to hear a story with familiar characters that you love from the movie, this may not be for you.
