Historia
One week with one little girl—an angel, according to my staffing agency. Acting as the short-term nanny for a single dad should have been an easy way to make some extra cash. Until I show up for my first day and face off with a demon disguised as a seven-year-old girl wearing a red tutu and matching glitter slippers. Oh, and her father? My temporary boss? Maddox Holiday. The same Maddox Holiday I crushed on in high school. The same Maddox Holiday who didn’t even know I existed.

Powerful Argument for Women’s Rights
Revisado: 11-03-24
This was such an emotional book to read especially considering the current situation in the United States, where Roe v. Wade was overturned. It’s unconscionable in this day and age that women should not have say over their own bodies.. This was so well written, and though some decisions of the characters, we’re not easy for me to understand it made me stop and think it’s not my place to understand my place is to allow women in all situations to make their own decisions. I highly recommend this book for book club. it is the story of young girls and women and the adversity that they face and the beautiful friendships that are formed during these dark times.

Not for me
Revisado: 09-14-24
This book started out so strong for me, but it got tangled up in itself the last several chapters just too drawn out. Honestly, I couldn’t wait to be done with it. I expected more because I loved the midnight library. I did love the narrator. She was wonderful, but even she couldn’t hold my attention the last three chapters. Perhaps I wasn’t in the right frame of mind for this book to talk to me like it may others.

Historia
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.

Murder mystery with comedy mixed in
Revisado: 07-22-24
I really enjoyed this book I appreciate the spattering of comedy along the way. It had good character development, very likable, main character, and a plausible ending that I did not see coming. My only complaint would be the downplaying of what was obviously domestic abuse I’ve never been a victim so maybe that’s how some victims act but it confused me

Generic Story
Revisado: 05-10-24
It starts out like a Harlequin romance but thankfully moved into a different direction. Parts of it were intriguing, but in all honesty, I only finished it because I had to for bookclub. It was kind of boring, shallow, boring characters. I didn’t really care about any of them.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Young Adult Read
Revisado: 01-21-24
Listening to this half of this book was painful The passages of Williams journal from his time in Vietnam gave you insight to the tip of the iceberg. That was this awful more. They are young men, and women into a battle that has William stated served only to rob them of their morality and innocence. Thank God, so able to return to try and build normal life, in spite of being rejected by so many upon their return
What I did find painful was the authors own story was his he suffers from ADD and would Bas with such inconsequential information as to that housing market and what they had for dinner . I thought it was contrived. He wrote in way to lead us to believe that his family had come up with quotes that have been around for as long as I can remember (I.e. if you want to be treated like an adult act like an adult,. it says, though he was imagining his audience to be in the eighth or ninth grade. I was so bored I’m bored just writing this review I was forced to finish the book for book club. Otherwise I would’ve stopped after the second chapter, but that’s how I felt about his book The extraordinary life of Sam Hill. I am not a fan of the author Robert Dugoni His writings are an arrested development.

Holly we hardly knew you
Revisado: 10-04-23
I enjoyed the story. We really got to know more about Holly and her personal history, which was a trade-off for the usual deeper, dives into the horror. I really did appreciate the documentation here of the true whore during this time period which was fighting Covid, and all the people died from Covid so many unnecessarily it’s good that Stephen King includes real history along with his fiction.
