I gotta say I am into a lot of post apocalyptic books and book one was great. All down hill from there.
I want spoil anything but I will state what really bugs me about this series. It was not written by an American and I’m fine with that BUT you have to get the lingo right. We use flashlights not torches. We do not say rubbish it’s trash or garbage and I’ve never heard an American say you lot. It’s you all or something to that effect. And we never use the word grog meaning booze. It took me right out of the story.

Where to start? If you listened to Sophie Ffegle books you know the basics. This is set in the same world. I don’t wanna spoil anything but if you like Urban Fantasy check this book out. Can’t wait for book 2!

Ok. It’s not a bad book….. BUT. I’m about halfway through and I’m sick of hearing about Trump. I listen to these books to forget about that moron. I really hate politics in my books. So if you are like me maybe skip this one. Story is not bad so far other than Trump.

And the correct answer is YES! And this is it!! I lost count of how many times I laughed out loud and I may have shed a year at the end….. and Joe! After Mouse from the Dresden files book the best damn dog in any book! Thank you for a fantastic read…….. now where is book 2 damn it!!!!

First l am a big Zombie fan and Rot & Ruin and Broken Lands series are in my top five. This series’s is the first of Mr Mayberry’s that I’ve read and I was not disappointed. Do not let the idea of it being YA series turn you off. I hope there will be a book 3. I need more Rainbow Smite.

As a King fan I was expecting a lackluster ending but IMO this is one of the best endings King has wrote.
On to the story. Again I really didn’t expect much. His non horror stuff has been hit or miss for the most part and not much of a fantasy fan. I do enjoy urban fantasy but this book is fantasy. I will not spoil everything but if you get worried about a dog in a King book and it prevents you from reading it as it almost did me. Don’t worry. Just read it.

I have never reviewed a book before. And do not plan on starting now. I just loved this book and the first one. It’s creepy and just fun. To me it’s Sons of Anarchy meets X-Files with a little Stephen King all mixed together. There is one baddie who reminds me of The Dark Man Randel Flag. And a gang of Pennywise / Violent Jay/Shaggy 2 Dope wannabes. Put don’t let that stop you. I can’t wait for the next book. The Wheel Turns...
