Historia
Investigating a crime seemingly unconnected to the Royal Family, Holmes & Watson uncover a conspiracy to kidnap Queen Victoria and destabilise the British Empire. With a ticking clock to her next public engagement, Holmes and Watson must discover who is behind the plot and locate her majesty, while Mycroft tries to keep the monarch’s disappearance a secret from the British people. At first, Holmes believes Moriarty is responsible for the abduction, but when the Napoleon of Crime is proved innocent, Holmes must work with his arch-nemesis to rescue the Queen.

Stories written by Conan Doyle are masterpieces but this story (not written by the creator of SH) is totally out of character for SH. Too much sarcasm and ridicule from Holmes to Watson to even finish listening. The story line left some holes that were not explained in true Holmes fashion. I’m saddened because I really like Holmes and Watson stories.

I really liked this book; unique store line, plenty of descriptions that enhance the story line. The narrator’s voice added to the “credibility” to the story. There are two “could be better” items: chapter numbers are totally off and the tiny sounds between chapters are like someone roughly turning pages.

The author has developed an exceptionally interesting storyline bringing together characters from other books; and it works quite well. ....and then there is the reader Kate Reading. What a talent this woman has. The story is read with different parts and Kate Reading does them all! Put this one on your wishlist.

After listening to several chapters it's just not my preference of story line -- too much "bedroom" but it's not erotic. I was hoping for more mystery or adventure or suspense.

Historia
In the center of historic Edinburgh, builders are preparing to convert a disused Victorian Gothic building into luxury flats. They are understandably surprised to find skeletal remains hidden in a high pinnacle that hasn't been touched by maintenance for years. But who do the bones belong to, and how did they get there? Could the eccentric British pastime of free climbing the outside of buildings play a role? Enter cold case detective Karen Pirie, who gets to work trying to establish the corpse's identity.

Historia
Mary Boleyn was the mistress of two kings, Francois I of France and Henry VIII of England, and sister to Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII’s second wife. In this astonishing and riveting biography, Alison Weir’s extensive research gives a new and detailed portrayal, in which she recounts that, contrary to popular belief, Mary was entirely undeserving of her posthumous notoriety as a great whore.

Historia
In this riveting, accessible work of science, Charles Mann takes us on an enthralling journey of scientific exploration. We learn that the Indian development of modern corn was one of the most complex feats of genetic engineering ever performed. That the Great Plains are a third smaller today than they were in 1700 because the Indians who maintained them by burning died. And that the Amazon rain forest may be largely a human artifact.

Historia
General Stonewall Jackson was like no one anyone had ever seen. In April of 1862 he was merely another Confederate general with only a single battle credential in an army fighting in what seemed to be a losing cause. By middle June he had engineered perhaps the greatest military campaign in American history and was one of the most famous men in the Western World. He had given the Confederate cause what it had recently lacked: hope.
