Historia
When Kenan, an incubus, finds a caged angel for sale in the Hellsgate marketplace, he sees her as a challenge. Certain that his skills in seduction will work as well on a heavenly creature as they do on mortal women, he buys Jahel, intent on having her soul as a novelty in his collection.

Interesting world but flat plot
Revisado: 07-03-18
Although there are a few side eye moments in the book with the characters and their insta love. The world was interesting and the politics of the world looked like something that could be amazing if expanded upon and given to the right people. The plot was a basic one and I saw the ending a mile away (though I still enjoyed it enough!) but the scrolls, seals and workings of Angels and Demons was the best and most interesting part of the story and I wished more of the story focused on that dynamic. I hope the author revisits that world with more of an epic fantasy vibe then paranormal romance.
Zoe Hunter’s speaking voice was sometimes flat but overall not too shabby but I found myself having to go back because I stopped listening to her. Her other voices too were the same shrill whine that didn’t work for every character she was portraying and it’s OK to yell into the mic, the hushed yells were distracting especially when some of the shrill voices were loud and piercing, it threw me out of the story.
Would’ve probably preferred to read this story than have it read to me. But I will be looking into other books by the author but might take a miss on Zoe Hunter’s other work. Her voice isn’t for me and that’s OK, some people will love her but I’m not one of them.

Historia
No doubt about it, Sebastian "Oz" Osborne is the university's most celebrated student athlete - and possibly the biggest douchebag. A walking, talking cliché, he has a filthy mouth, a fantastic body, and doesn't give a sh-t about what you or anyone else thinks. Jameson Clarke may be the university's most diligent student - but she is no prude. Spending most of her time in the hallowed halls of the library, James is wary of pervs, jocks, and douchebags - and Oz Osborne is all three. She's smart, sarcastic - and not what he expected....

Nice, easy slice of life novel about two college kids
Revisado: 01-12-18
I definitely didn’t think going into the book I’d enjoy it as much as I did. The narrators did a fantastic job considering there was some pretty ah, steamy parts to the novel and they helped sell it.
The plot was nice and light, really a slice of life book without much conflict or emotional angst which was nice to listen to while I worked. I found myself laughing which was nice. I wish maybe more happened but I definitely liked it and loved the development of the characters and the lack of cliche arguments/angst the pair could’ve had was great and totally different to how I thought it’d play out.
I don’t think I’m going to read the next one though simply because I didn’t like the outside characters as much as the two main and their lives don’t interest me. BUT I will read more from this author

Historia
Since moving to Mystic Harbor, Maine, I've made it my life's mission to avoid Reese Blackburn at all costs. Sure, he has cheekbones that could cut glass, not to mention bedroom eyes that could melt any girl into a puddle on the floor. Too bad that doesn't change the fact he's completely stab-worthy. When a fun night out on the town turns deadly, I quickly discover the quaint little hamlet of Mystic Harbor houses more than sandy beaches and adorable B&Bs. Beneath the New England charm rests a world where shifters, demons, vampires, and angelic hunters all vie for power.

Solid book
Revisado: 12-16-17
As far as these types of books go, there is the good and the bad to it. But I enjoyed it and I intent to start to read the next one when I’m done reviewing this.
There were a few things and at times I did feel lost in the story, the romances she’s building up are OK; I can see where the future of them are heading and sadly I only really felt a sizzle between one pairing the rest felt platonic and build on pity. But that may change further on, the teens sounded like teens and acted as such! No adult minded people running around high school really helped immerse myself into the high school mindset and made their decisions less frustrating because it was shown they were teens. oh and it was nice to have a main character have a friend group she actually cared about outside of just the ‘one token friend’ trope rife in YA. Though outside of her best friend her friends were interchangeable until the last half and then you really only needed to know two of them but don’t ask me to name them. The world and system she’s build is interesting and I found myself wanting to know more about the creatures and how the world works. She only showed us a slither of a world I’d like to explore.
Jennifer O’Donnell was great, the gravelly voice worked well to build the tension and she’ll forever be the voice of Kat to me. I hope she narrates future books in the series.

Improved so much since the first one
Revisado: 11-23-17
When I first listened to Red Queen I was 50/50 on the story but decided to keep listening to see where it ended up and honestly, I went from sorta hate listening to adoring this series. The acting, pace and characterisation improved ten fold, each character felt like new world views not just the same internal chatter inside a new skin like some books have. I’m so glad I was able to continue on with the series and wish I have the next one to devour.

Historia
This is a world divided by blood - red or silver. The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change. That is, until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own.

3/5
Revisado: 11-10-17
It’s a well written, well paced book but the lack of acting in the woman’s voice pulled me out of it, she seemed afraid to yell or seem distressed in distressing scenes, and I personally couldn’t invest in the characters as they seemed one dimensional except for Maven. I never feared for anyone’s life and felt I knew where the story was going bar one twist. The romance seemed weak and forced on certain characters and in saying that characters were wishy washy in their motives, they flipped and flopped depending on how the plot needed them to be not because of who they were.
But I’m glad other people liked it and I can see how people would, just not for me.
