One Emotional Ride

I really enjoyed this story. The emotional depth portrayed was as real as if you the reader were in Harper's shoes. I was intrigued from beginning to end and highly recommend it for those who love books about family drama, mysteries, and a focus on inner emotional turmoil. Overall a great read and the narration was expertly performed.

Boundaries are pushed, Family ties are tested and stripped away, and the ultimate fate of humanity rests in the hands of two brothers. Having gotten the honor of being an early reader for this book, I am just so so thrilled with how well the final version turned out. This is a story with a good old fashioned feel tossed with some horror, a question of faith, the reality of hard truths, and fighting for what you believe is right. The relationship Roadie and Errol share was as real to me while reading this as if it were me and one of my siblings. Lee captures an emotional depth with this book that will leave you wanting more. The family roots and down home feel was an extra special touch that gave this book a comforting tone to sink into, while also disturbing the crap out of me at some points and it was a helluva ride.

From start to finish this book had me hooked

From start to finish this book had me hooked. The suspense held me captive right up until the end. I found and highlighted several favorite passages along the way and loved all the witty banter and hilarious chapter titles. Addicting, thrilling, and a real page-turner. McMahon weaved this story together magnificently considering there are so many characters and timelines to keep track of. I was blown away by the ending and cannot wait to start the next time paradox adventure that awaits our Restarter friends.
***The Narration was absolutely flawless! I loved how the narrator brought this book to life and gave each a character a real and tangible voice. I was amazed at how well this translated to audio and cannot wait to hear the rest of the series in this format.***

A whimsical young adult fantasy read with real emotional stakes. This story is a slow burning and heartwarming adventure mixed with life lessons. Just when you think the focus is on one of the main characters Lilja, Kaden's story slowly bubbles up to the surface and takes wing. I really liked how it all came together at the end. I especially loved the artwork and beautiful scrolls on the cover that are a magical eyecatcher.
