Historia
There's something wrong with Ashburn House. The ancient building has been the subject of rumours for close to a century. Its owner, Edith, refused to let guests inside and rarely visited the nearby town. Following Edith's death, her sole surviving relative, Adrienne, inherits the property. Adrienne's only possessions are a suitcase of luggage, 20 dollars, and her pet cat. Ashburn House is a lifeline she can't afford to refuse. Adrienne doesn't believe in ghosts, but it's hard to ignore the unease that grows as she explores her new home.

Enjoyable Listen
Revisado: 04-05-21
I listened to this book while driving for 8 hours. It was not easy to foresee the twist and turns, which were a bit roughly written in spots, but still enjoyable on the long drive.

Historia
In the wake of an unthinkable family tragedy, 12-year-old Flavia de Luce is struggling to fill her empty days. For a needed escape, Dogger, the loyal family servant, suggests a boating trip for Flavia and her two older sisters. Something grazes her fingers as she dangles them in the water. She clamps down on the object, imagining herself Ernest Hemingway battling a marlin, and pulls up what she expects will be a giant fish. But in Flavia's grip is something far better: a human head, attached to a human body.

First Listen
Revisado: 10-02-19
l enjoyed this book, it was an easy, not all that thrilling or intense by any means, but a relaxing listen, but what I enjoyed the most, was listening to the voice of the narrator! The accent was easily understood with clear and concise pronunciations, no need of having to go back to grasp a word etc.. Very enjoyable.

Redundant
Revisado: 01-08-19
The premise of these books sounded interesting, however what I found were stories where the same situations constantly were repeated over and over again. Reading like the repetitious love lives of two young women in their high school dating years, but with a few mild paranormal activity thrown in. By the time I managed to get to the end of these, if I would have had to sit through another discussion, or argument about "but you are my mate!" rejection line, I would have tossed it out the proverbial window! I had to force myself to listen to the end. No surprises or twists to keep this reader engaged whatsoever.

Life at 60 isn't quite what Kay Carrera expected. She's working as a skip-tracer for a PI who is desperate to land his own reality TV show. She has a new roommate who arrived with more than the usual amount of baggage. And her attempts at knitting are less than stellar - way less than stellar. Worse, the cataract surgery that restored her sight has also delivered an unexpected and disturbing side-effect. Kay sees ghosts. And when the dead turn to her for help, she just can't say no.

Historia
As a part-time PI and full-time grim reaper, Charley Davidson has asked a lot of questions throughout her life: Why can I see dead people? Who is the hot supernatural entity following me? How do I get gum out of my sister's hair before she wakes up? But "how do I trap not one malevolent god but three?" was never among them. Until now. And since those gods are on earth to kill her daughter, she has little choice but to track them down, trap them, and cast them from this dimension. There's just one problem. One of the three stole her heart a very long time ago.

Losing some of the magical mystery
Revisado: 10-24-16
Perhaps the adage about familiarity and contempt rings true here too? I am finding the farther along the story unfolds, there is less mystery and sexual tension between the main characters. As they have lost interest?

Another shockingly suspenseful installment in #1 New York Times best-selling author Karen Marie Moning's Fever series. Burned picks up right where the surprising conclusion of Iced left off, and will feature beloved characters Mac and Dani O'Malley as they embark on another high-octane adventure in the Fever world.

STILL WAITING FOR THE RELEASE~!
Revisado: 03-02-15
What did you like best about Burned? What did you like least?
Unbelievable ~ with a huge touch of disappointment and side of let down for good measure?
DONT BOTHER WITH THIS ONE......
I looked forward to reading this book, the sheer enjoyment I had known and grown to find with Karen Marie Monings style in her Fever Novels has left me miserable and feeling duped.
WTH? This book is such a disappointment in all areas I cant begin to come close to huge let down I felt once finished. I have read it four times now....and each time I keep looking through the pages for the rest of the damned book!
I never beleieved I would NEVER or Recommend AGAINST purchasing any of the Fever Novels to date, but this one is just that.
What was most disappointing about Karen Marie Moning’s story?
The story lines lacked premise along with PROMISE. LIke watching a few characters ACT like anyone but whom they were to portray, It lacked imagination, passe ho-hum and very easily guesses plot lines long before finding myself going you gotta me 'kiddin' me?!!!
There is no artistry, sexual tension, inept story lines if any what so ever are to be found in what i WOULD deem two or three pages of bleeh.....before heading into another subset of less than entertaiment and a definitive dissappointment from Ms Monings one upon a time talent that capture so many of us....
I "hope" she will try to redeem herself with this one, The delays and ;lack of enjoyment feeling left out in the cold by this book. Should she choose to wrtie another one I do hope she actually spends her talents writing the next book instead of doing what ever it she didnt want to accomplish in this one.
No Short Cuts Ms. Moning. You sold many of us out on this one.
Did Burned inspire you to do anything?
demand a refund for my purchase price
Any additional comments?
I am still shocked at how this book, inspite of continual changes in release dates and etc. bore no witness what so ever to Ms Monings previous talents written into her previous Fever Series Books.
