Historia
Being an unwanted twin in the Imperial line of succession, Farilane became a scholar, adventurer, and in a time when reading was once more forbidden—a book hunter. Her singular obsession is finding the mythical Book of Brin, a tome not just lost but intentionally buried. Respected and beloved by the Teshlor Knights, not even their legendary skills can protect her for what she finds is more dangerous than what she sought.

Another amazing work by Sullivan and Reynolds
Revisado: 11-30-22
I can’t get enough of this world, the characters through generations, and the brilliant narration of Tim Gerard Reynolds, who is (in my view) the best there is … and it’s not even close. This story is a little bit of a departure from the prior formula, but it’s differences produced an environment that made it interesting to see where it was all going. Great book !

Historia
With Age of Myth, Age of Swords, and the New York Times best-selling Age of War, fantasy master Michael J. Sullivan riveted fans with a tale of unlikely heroes locked in a desperate battle to save humankind. After years of warfare, humanity has gained the upper hand and has pushed the Fhrey to the edge of their homeland, but no farther. Now comes the pivotal moment. Persephone’s plan to use the stalemate to seek peace is destroyed by an unexpected betrayal that threatens to hand victory to her enemy and leaves a loved one in peril.

Amazing narration .... great turn !
Revisado: 05-07-22
First ... as always Tim G. Reynolds may just be the best narrator in all of Audible. He is certainly my favorite and was absolutely born to tell this story.
As for the story and all of these Michael Sullivan books, I have followed from the very beginning and am consistently amazed at how he continues to build this world, and nove it forward (or in reverse). Great story and I can't wait to read and listen to the next. Well done all the way around.

Historia
In Age of Myth, fantasy master Michael J. Sullivan launched audiences on an epic journey of magic and adventure, heroism and betrayal, love and loss. Now the thrilling saga continues as the human uprising is threatened by powerful enemies from without—and bitter rivalries from within. Raithe, the God Killer, may have started the rebellion by killing a Fhrey, but long-standing enmities dividing the Rhunes make it all but impossible to unite against the common foe. And even if the clans can join forces, how will they defeat an enemy whose magical prowess renders them indistinguishable from gods?

The answer lies across the sea in a faraway land populated by a reclusive and dour race who feel nothing but disdain for both Fhrey and mankind.

Historia
Since time immemorial, humans have worshipped the gods they call Fhrey, truly a race apart: invincible in battle, masters of magic, and seemingly immortal. But when a god falls to a human blade, the balance of power between humans and those they thought were gods changes forever. Now only a few stand between humankind and annihilation: Raithe, reluctant to embrace his destiny as the God Killer; Suri, a young seer burdened by signs of impending doom; and Persephone, who must overcome personal tragedy to lead her people. The Age of Myth is over. The time of rebellion has begun.

Sullivan has done it again. What a great story teller and what an imaginative world he has created. Listen carefully, as there are many threads woven in seemingly innocuous places which will reveal themselves to have greater and more significant meaning later. I really enjoy his stories and look forward to his next entry.

AMAZING Story and perfect narration !
Revisado: 02-27-16
This has been a fantastic story, written almost perfectly. I can't think of a better conclusion to a series I have experienced. Great Story from start to finish ! The world Pierce Brown has created has been created with rare insight and perspective into how a writer can tap into the minds and imagination of its readers. As to the narration, Tim Gerald Reynolds is one of the best narrators in the world. Books and narrators like these are precisely what drew me I to the audible format to begin with, and I'm completely addicted now. I've enjoyed his narration of both this series and the Rhyria series more than any other book I have listened to. The combination of a wonderful story, and a perfect narrator make for one of the best overall book series ever compiled. I will be listening to the entire series from start to finish again soon. I would (and will) recommend it to anyone who has interest in the audible format.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Great story !
This book has almost everything you want in a good listen. Good storytelling, interesting science, excitement, and a good narrator (a little monotone, but appropriate for this story).

Amazing Book !!!
Revisado: 01-13-15
What made the experience of listening to Golden Son the most enjoyable?
First - the Narrator, Tim Gerard Reynolds is (by far) the absolute BEST narrator today. His work on this series is captivating in ways nobody else could match, and anyone who hasn't listed to his work on the Riyria Chronicles and Riyria Revelations is missing out on one of the best performances of any you will ever hear. Tim Reynolds captures the characters, scenes, emotions and personalities like no other, and draws you into the story and brings it to life in such a way, that you will not want to put it down. FIVE STARS for Tim Gerard Reynolds !!!
Second - The story depicted in Pierce Brown's trilogy of Red Rising is truly remarkable. This is not my typical genre, so I feel like a good example of how good story telling can create interest for anyone, despite the genre. Red Rising was a good book, with good character development, and an overall arc which creates interest for just about any reader in this world he has created. Golden Son takes this story and this world and draws you into it very effectively. Golden Son has moments (long moments) which take slow, progressive turns, but with patience, and the knowledge that you never know what comes next, this is definitely a book you will not want to put down. In my case, I really started to sympathize with the characters and wonder why good things can not just happen for these people, Darrow in particular. Very well done. The ending makes you wonder how things could possibly turn out well for anyone, which is both exciting, and a huge frustration. My only regret is that I will have to wait for months to find out where this is going. I will be eagerly tracking the conclusion of this story, and hope Pierce Brown can get this one out to us quickly.
