Murder Bot FTW
Revisado: 03-28-25
Murder Bot is always such an entertaining ride. The reader's voices are excellent. There's an excellent bit about where 90%+ of our problems lie that I had to pause and sit with for awhile because damn that was some truth. Can't wait to start the next one.

Historia
Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor. More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost. But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore.

Such a fabulous series! In this one we even got a reference to another series I'm reading with a sassy beer can. 😆 I didn't want this one to end. Time to start the next.

Everything about this I loved
Revisado: 03-13-25
I don't even know where to start. The characters are lovely, side characters have their own stories and aren't just flat NPCs, the reader is amazing and does different voices excellently. The love between the two women shows throughout. I bought this purely because someone complained about the lesbians and I was so delightfully surprised. Loved it throughout and can't wait to read the next one.

He’s an exiled faerie king on the run from his murderous mother and in search of a door back to his realm.

Mostly enjoyable
Revisado: 02-21-25
I like almost everyone else in the story more than I do Emily. Even with the trope of intelligent person with no common sense, Emily is amazingly stupid sometimes. What Wendell sees in her I have no idea. I might well just read a summary of the third one rather than go through it.

Authentic, Gritty

True crime I couldn't stop listening to. I hope she gets the answers she's looking for.
My only negative is the creepy music that introduces every episode. As soon as I heard the guitar start I skipped ahead 15 seconds. Much better!

Revisado: 01-12-25
I was not sure I was going to like this, since it was in universe but not the characters we've gotten used to from the first books. To say pleasantly surprised would be an understatement! Great story, very engaging, good times all around.

Historia
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.

Couldn't stop listening
Revisado: 01-04-25
I loved this from start to finish. Amy Tintera nails the turmoil of the abuse victim: yes, I know I should leave, yes, I know this is terrible, but also it's at least partly my fault and I should be better. The podcast format works perfectly here.

Great Lando story
Revisado: 07-31-24
Really great story with a less developed character. I'm used to Marc Thompson reading my SW books but this narrator has a spot-on Lando. He does voice another character almost identically; not certain if this was intentional to make the listener unsure of an identity or an accident. My one drawback was that I thought it went on a bit. On multiple occasions I thought the book was over, only to have another chapter start up.

Psychological Abuse
Revisado: 03-26-24
Wow, Elvis was a narcissistic, child grooming, piece of garbage. This is not a beautiful love story, this is a story told by a woman who doesn't understand how much she was used and abused. She was let down by so many people in her life. Were this to happen now, I really hope she would have been in therapy. At the same time, if a 24 year old were in bed with a 14 year old now, he would have been arrested. Rightly so.
Priscilla is a terrible reader. I'm not just hating on her: I have compassion for the poor woman. So many people should have helped her and never did, and so much of this was a product of its time. Having said that, though, audio narration is not a good fit for her. Getting through this was painful for many reasons.

Another enjoyable Middle Falls story
Revisado: 12-23-23
I'm not sure if I'm ready to leave the core group of the first three novels, but we'll see how this trilogy goes. This one wasn't as good as the previous ones but still engaging.
The reader, though. When's he's just reading exposition, he's lovely. His voices for different characters are quite atrocious, though. Nathaniel's BFF sounds like a stupid but tolerated cartoon dog. For a character written with dignity, he deserved better. Nathaniel's voice as a child was original Dennis the Menace meets original Eddie Haskell. His adult voice wasn't much better. If I wasn't interested in hearing how the story wound out I probably would have dropped it mid-listen. The reader would probably do very well reading nonfiction.
