Historia
Winter, 1361. After two decades of conflict, Edward III has finally agreed a treaty with the captive French King, John II. In return for his freedom, John has ceded vast tracts of territory to the English. But for five long years mercenary bands and belligerent lords have fought over the carcass of his kingdom. They will not give up their hard-won spoils to honor a defeated king's promises. If the English want their prize, they'll have to fight for it...Thomas Blackstone will have to fight for it. But this time there will be no English army at his back. He'll face the French alone.

I'm loving all of the Master of War series
Revisado: 02-02-25
I'm loving this entire series, and in particular the performance of the Gilbert Jackson who can make the characters come to life. I'm hooked for the entire journey and will listen to all the books and hope Gilbert Jackson continues to lend his talents to the story telling.

Excellent. So worth it!
Revisado: 01-07-25
The story and history are captivating, and the narration and characters are the best in the business. The narrator brings the characters to life, each with their own voices and personalities. I found the entire experience enjoyable. I finished the box set and immediately downloaded the rest of the books. Trust me, it's good.

Audibly pleasant on the ears, and interesting
Revisado: 09-28-23
Interesting glimpse behind the scenes of CIA. Most noticeable thing about the book is the literary prose is beautiful. Like it was written by an English major, which I guess makes sense since the author was an aspiring journalist. Fancy and colorful words that are not used in everyday languages, but feels genuine when read by the author. I liked it. The story itself was also interesting and worth the read/listen.

Packed with tension and vivid descriptions of agonizing U-boat hunts, this tale of the most bitter and chilling campaign of the war tells of ordinary men who had to master their own fears before they could face a brutal menace - one that would strike without warning from the deep.

A Taste of the Battle of the Atlantic

A good story of one crew on WW2 battle of the Atlantic. Not thrilling and exciting by modern standards, but exciting in is own way and told brilliantly. The performer had a great accent which made for easy listening.

Tension from beginning to end
Revisado: 05-01-23
Good story full of tension from beginning to end. Not full of colors and depth like many modern fiction writers, but gray and austere much like the ships Captain who the story follows. Overall I found it entertaining.

An Epic story...I'm sad it is over
Revisado: 04-27-23
I looked forward to listening to this story everyday when I got in my car. it's long, like well over 80 hours, which was great as I was sad when it ended. I wanted to hear more. It's an epic story of Musashi, a real historical figure thought to be the greatest swordsmen to ever live. The characters are well developed and the story had their paths crossing in creative ways. the whole story was told in a very entertaining way, and the narrator did a great job with voices so you came to know who was talking just by the sounds of their voice. I don't know what to say about this. if you have any interest in the Japanese Shogun era, I think you will enjoy this listen.

When diplomacy has failed and military intervention is deemed inappropriate, our leaders often turn to a silent and dark community for results. This is a course of action not always taken by wise and honorable men. In certain circles it is known as "the third option."
