Historia
The greatest athletic performances spring from the mind, not the body. Elite athletes have known this for decades, and now science is learning why it's true. In his fascinating new book, How Bad Do You Want It?, coach Matt Fitzgerald examines more than a dozen pivotal races to discover the surprising ways elite athletes strengthen their mental toughness.

Good but feels incomplete

Would have been better if he dived more into the science and how to practice some of the mental techniques. Especially in the later chapters.

Historia
Matt Fitzgerald has already made a name for himself in the endurance-sport community with books like 80/20 Running, How Bad Do You Want It?, and Iron War. He is an accomplished amateur runner, but if he follows the training, nutrition, and lifestyle of an elite runner, just how fast could he go? He is approaching his mid-40s, so the time to do this is now. He at last has the financial means to do nothing but train.

I'm more interesting in training science but thought this book was an interesting day in the life story

Amazing book about training
Revisado: 11-30-23
Two things would make the audiobook version better.
1. Narrated by the author himself.
2. A supplemental PDF file to go along with the book. Not sure why New Aplinism has one but not this book.
This is a must-have book for training for ultras. I would recommend getting a hard copy first and taking lots of notes and highlights. I got the audiobook version to listen to on runs.

Historia
Marathons have become too easy for some runners. What was once the pinnacle of achievement in a runner's life is now a stepping stone for extraordinary adventure in ultramarathoning. The number of ultrarunners - those running distances of 50k (31 miles), 50 miles, 100k (62 miles), or 100 miles - is growing astronomically each year. To date, there has been no practical guide to ultramarathoning. Now, Bryon Powell has written Relentless Forward Progress, the first how-to manual for aspiring ultrarunners.

Good but too basic
Revisado: 11-30-23
This is a good book if you are new or have never run an ultra. For myself, I have run several ultras, made my training plans, and read a lot of scientific material about ultra running so I don't think I was able to take anything new away from this book.
It would help if narrated by the author and had more advice on training about different workouts.

Make your training plans better
Revisado: 11-22-23
Get it. I look forward to the third revision. I have noticed that much of the science stuff Koop has covered in the last two years isn't covered in the books since it's relatively new. I hope it makes it into the next book.
