Loved Quin’s deep dive into The Christmas Story and its fine points!

What A Great Book! Quin captures the why’s of Jean Shepherd’s great movie, The Christmas Story. Thank you for sharing your conversations and insights about Jean. I’ve watched the movie every year since taking my daughters to see it in our local theater in 1983. As the oldest kid who was a vivid dreamer on a farm in Wisconsin, I completely identified with Ralphie. His relationship with the Oldman made complete sense as did the relationship with Mom. My kid time was the ‘50’s but many of the same things were going on around me back then. The coal burning furnace, push button light switches, Mrs. Thompson (my teacher) who taught 3rd and 4th grades in the same room, bullies, fights - it was all there for me. Quin shares numerous insights into his life as well as revealing details into Shep’s. Quin was interviewed by Glenn Beck and I couldn’t wait to order the book! And it outperformed all my expectations. Great job Quin with the book and the performance! Thanks so much!

It answered many questions I’ve had about my Christian Faith backed with Biblical backup. The author did an excellent way to present his thoughts to someone who doesn’t have the same depth of understanding.

We’ve been sold out by greed.

Schweizer opened my eyes to the terrible fact that the negative motives of those powerful anti American men and women is simply greed. Sadly there are precious few who won’t sell their souls and my freedom to the Chinese. Schweizer calls them out for the traitors they are starting with the Biden’s. Good old Joe is a traitor.

This is an outline for us who morn the loss of freedom we lived growing up. Tom points out how we got here sold out by progressives starting with Wilson. Tom shows how we can regain what has been lost and rebuild our city on the hill. Thank you Tom!

Good guys do finish first sometimes

Kirk’s book is a deeply personal, real story of someone who I’ve seen on game day many times but had no appreciation for who he really is. His courage to address his trials and tribulations is indeed remarkable. A solid family man dedicated to his broadcast team and football. It doesn’t get better!

He’s got the stuff of heroes in a humble package.

He is a credit to his craft but more importantly he’s an exemplary man to be viewed by younger men as a role model outside the typical mold of overpaid, washed up super heroes who lack humility.

I would ask him about his position on BLM, racism and anti racism issues that we find society embroiled in today. I know he does not see race.

Tucker has a very wide set of experiences. Some were hilarious - laughed so hard - others frightening.

This book is an insight into who Tucker is and where he came from. We really enjoyed it.

The presentation is long and well thought out as Victor Davis Hanson always does. Breaking the war into distinct elements provides an informative overview of that horrific event. Additionally, his objectivity provides an even handed account of the war.

Dear David,

I’m retired and have lived a productive, fulfilling life. For many years I read a motivational book each month to bolster my goals and aspirations. Your book’s like none I ever read.

I’m not a veteran, I’ve focused on many goals. Some physical - I played football in 3 of the 4 high schools I attended as well as in college. Some Academic- I earned a 5 year mechanical engineering degree in 4 years. That 8 year period of my life taught me the power of discipline, commitment and hard work. As a farm kid, I was blessed with the full understanding of hard, dirty, physical work that I never forgot.


I enjoyed a wonderful career. I lead a 57 engineer team to some serious successes. But, I never harbored ideas that I was bigger than life.

Where I part ways with your book is the necessity of being the ‘best’ engineer there is. I was able to extract the best from my teams and accepted I wasn’t the smarted, meanest, SOB - though I did not doubt my strong leadership abilities and never settled or backed down.

In the end of your book, you speak of God’s chart for us all. What if God’s chart shows being a great father to 3 sons who vastly eclipsed your own father’s performance here on earth? How about being a great husband" Being the baddest MFer isn’t part of those job descriptions.

I pray you’ll adjust the chart of your future to demonstrate God’s love and your Faith. You were blessed with a needed repair of your heart - I wish you the best of luck in a future bigger than yourself. Being the baddest MFer on the planet is an elusive and fleeting title.

I realize you’ve only done an autopsy on a part of your life but it sounds like there are some parts that can use some help because the only soul you’re taking in the rest of your life’s competition is your own.

I respect your service and am in awe of your amazing accomplishments.
