Please know that this book was not written by an indigenous person. The author makes that clear right from the start. He does so with an understanding, respect and humbleness that is refreshing. This story was well done. the charecter development is well done, you can tell the author has a deep fascination, and respect for the region and its indigenous cultures, as well as a level of empathy and contemplation that is refreshing as a white person. I am curious what an indigenous person would think of this story, and I intend to ask them. for now at least I give this story and the narrator a solid 4 stars. it's engaging, educational, respectful piece of literature.

I loved this, the story is beautiful, the narrator is excellent. I will read/listen to this one again and again. I honestly didn't want it to end. I want to stay in this world.
