A shout out to the audio book voice actor, Lisa Hicks who, having been perfectly cast as Maggie, narrator of the story, does an amazing job of bringing the listener into Maggie’s world comprised of exceptional friendships, young love and devastating loss. Bring your box of tissues!

Engaging read in a spooky kind of way

I enjoyed this book a lot. The plot is interesting in an eery sort of way as it involves mechanical dolls and family murder victims. Several engaging characters are vividly and adroitly brought to life in narration by Lisa Hicks who does a great job bring the story to its much anticipated climax. The story is easily heard in one setting which makes it a good choice for reading aloud to older children. Recommended!

Very enjoyable book. The stories are well told and the narration by Lisa Hicks is superb (as always.) Roberts has an amazing way of drawing you into the moment, engaging your imagination and emotions, but without becoming too sentimental. The short novel really works as an audio book because it is nice to have the stories spoken out loud by a gifted voice actor.
