Some intereting ideas. Too many characters. A hodgepodge of Chinese history and philosophy. Too many trials. Was there a point?

This book is a well researched history of the technology that enables digital image making, with a focus on animation, told in an entertaining way. The author clarifies what a Pixel is, what the technology entails and who invented it. He also traces the liniages of who studied with whom, the relevant companies and the centers of innovation, to it's very beginnings. Using Mores Law as the thread through modern times that paces the speed of technological innovation, the author sounds the drumbeat of technological change linked to time, in 5 year increments. By highlighting the often serendipitous way money and power, throughout history, in the hands of tyrents, and usually inadvertantly, enable brilliant inventors and creatives, the author weaves key historical figures and events into the narratvive.
This unusual and timely book is an accurate history of digital image making technology, a clear explanation of what a Pixel is and is not, and, in parts, autobiography.

The reader is lively and entertaining but the name Dick Shoup is not pronounced correctly.

My expectations were high and it was mostly a fun ride. But the ending was not satisfying.

The theorem turned out to be incidental to the story. No closure for the remaining living characters (human and others). No explanation for Robert's altered abilities.

Choppy dialogue pseudo reportage. Thus book fails to provide any insights or fill in any interesting information about the Chelsea or its past residents.

There is nothing to recomend about this book.. It is read with sappy over exageration like cheap pulp fiction. The author seems to think that stringing together court documents and old news clippings is all thats needed to write a biography.

Honest and insightful. A real look into what it takes to get elected and be a politician.

The narrative flows nicely from one artist to the next. The author incorporates not only insights into the specific artists' approaches and philosophies but puts it all in a global context. The author looks at the people and the rolls they play in the art world today. It's difficult to conclude after listening to this book, that what is being touted today as the best contemporary art will stand the test of time.

This book uses Julia Child's name to deliver a personal tyrade about someone else who was a member of the OSS with the Childs. One is constantly asking oneself..."What does this have to do with Julia Child?" There was alomst nothing about Julia in the book at all.
