Loved the story, the characters, the narrator, all of it! My favorite book by this author so far. Also, love a book where the main problem ISN’T that the characters don’t communicate with each other. I personally feel like that is just lazy writing. And this is definitely Not that! Again, loved it, will definitely listen to it again.

Another review said this book had no plot and likened it to light lesbian porn?? I strongly disagree. There were maybe 3 intimate scenes and they were not pornographic or distasteful at all in my opinion. There was plenty of character development for the leads and even decent character development for the secondary characters, whom there were quite a few of. The plot involved mystery and curses and small town dramas, accompanied by a sweet love story. There Could have been more background development of the leads by going back to their high school origin story more or by expanding more on the characters relationship w her family as a kid… but honestly, that would have expanded the read time extensively and not everyone is up for listening to a 20 hour book. I really liked the plot, leads, secondary and even tertiary characters. The mystery kept my attention and the love story was just the right amount of angst and sweet.

Not as good as the first. But, the typical cadence for these series is that the middle book is a little on the slow side and picks up at the end leading into an action packed third. Hopefully this will be the case again. Not bad, just a little on the slow side. Enjoyed it overall.

Wish only Abby had narrated it. I cringed through every chapter that wasn’t her. Overall good book but, unfortunately, the other narrator really made me struggle.

It was a great premise and I loved the lgbtq themed love. However, it was very disjointed a lot of the time and made it hard to follow and remain invested in the story. Good bones, though!

It was good and set up to have a potentially very cool ending..........and then it just didn’t. The final battle was so lame and uneventful that I was expecting another one afterwards. But there wasn’t one. Plot and character development was decent but again, what happened w the ending??

I really enjoyed Reality Check and No After You so I thought I’d be down for this book too. It was disappointing overall. I couldn’t tell, at times, if it was the story itself or the narration that so disjointed. I think it was a combination of both. I actually didn’t even care to finish it and stopped about 3/4 of the way through. Just bored. I’ll definitely be trying this author again since I really liked some other books. But this one just wasn’t for me.
