Connecting the Dots
Revisado: 11-11-24
What is reality, real, virtual, spiritual, intellectual, power, knowledge, money? What is the game? Who are the players?
Great book! It asks the questions and helps to define the precipice we are about to dive over. Well done. The narration was wonderful.

A Woven Tapestry of Words Come Alive.
Revisado: 09-14-23
You can close your eyes and see Meryl Streep as she her daughters pick cherries from the trees at their farm. She doesn’t just read the book she performs it. Ann Patchett weaves a beautiful tapestry of words into a lovely story of life, love and the choices we all make. An enjoyable book.

Among the most celebrated and beloved novels of 2021, Anthony Doerr’s gorgeous third novel is a triumph of imagination and compassion, a soaring story about children on the cusp of adulthood in worlds in peril, who find resilience, hope—and a book. In Cloud Cuckoo Land, Doerr has created a magnificent tapestry of times and places that reflects our vast interconnectedness—with other species, with each other, with those who lived before us, and with those who will be here after we’re gone.

Storytelling at its best.
Revisado: 02-11-22
A bit slow to start but the weaving of the story through centuries is so well done. An enjoyable read for anyone who loves storytelling.

Historia
In the opening pages of Jamie Ford's stunning debut, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, Henry Lee comes upon a crowd gathered outside the Panama Hotel, once the gateway to Seattle's Japantown. It has been boarded up for decades, but now the new owner has made an incredible discovery: the belongings of Japanese families, left when they were rounded up and sent to internment camps during World War II. As Henry looks on, the owner opens a Japanese parasol.

Historia
In 1665, a young man from Martha's Vineyard became the first Native American to graduate from Harvard College. Upon this slender factual scaffold, Brooks has created a luminous tale of love and faith, magic and adventure. The narrator of Caleb's Crossing is Bethia Mayfield, growing up in the tiny settlement of Great Harbor amid a small band of pioneers and Puritans. Restless and curious, she yearns after an education that is closed to her by her sex....

An Indian Friend
Revisado: 08-24-11
Well written and well read. A peek into our past as we took over the world with our ideas for the better. Was it truely better? What did we gain and what have we lost? Some things never change but a heart and a friend can be forever. A good read.
