Liked the common sense and sense of humor. Very intellectual at times but nuggets of gold.

I knew nothing about Yvonne Orji, I haven't watched anything she's done, I listen to about 40-50 books a year which very greatly and which I pick out for a variety of reasons. Now I'm a fan, Not a fan of her shows...don't know that I'll ever bother to watch what her show or routines, I'm a fan of her! Her character and class. I like and appreciate her sense of humor too!

We could sure use a lot more people like her in the world and they could DEFINITELY use a lot more people like her in the entertainment industry!

I can' think of anyone who wouldn't benefit from reading this book. Of course, non-Christians will be the most likely to criticize but her story really transcends religion. Great book Yvonne! This will touch many lives.

Full disclosure, I wasn't a fan or "not" a fan of Will Smith. I'm not really a fan of any entertainment celebrities in general because they just live in a very distorted world. They are rich and famous and (to me anyway) their contributions to improving society are minimal at best. I got this book because of the high ratings and I of course know of Will Smith. I think I've even seen some of his movies but I honestly can't think of one that would have me categorize him as one of the greatest movie stars of all time...a conclusion he seems to have of himself due to his success at the box office.

All that being said, I enjoyed the book, naturally he's a good performer and as the reader of the book, he makes it entertaining in his "what you'd expect" Will Smith way, I particularly liked the story at the beginning about his father making him and his brother build a brick wall when they were young. Good life lesson to remember.

I've read/listened to many great books about exceptional people who have done exceptional things but (for me) this didn't quite measure up to some of the other books and people I've read about...although, I'd have to say he has certainly had great amount of success. I would expect Will Smith fans to love the book. I do give him credit for openly discussing some of his faults, weaknesses and failures but it's all done with plenty of support in talking about his success.

i think Will is talented, hard working (obviously successful) and pretty sure of himself at this point and while the colorful language used throughout the book may be indicative of his daily communications, especially within the entertainment industry, it struck me as somewhat beneath his status in life.

Thomas Sowell, a national treasure.

I'm really glad that Jason Riley gave Thomas Sowell his due. This man is truly brilliant and a "true" intellectual. I say true intellectual because he uses his masterful mind to draw logical and rational conclusions based on empirical facts and evidence combined with his astounding knowledge in various fields. Most others, and certainly his critics, are overwhelmingly outmatched when paired against his intellect. His critics can only use the pathetically tired and disgusting attacks that the left always uses when it can't compete with an intelligent counterpoint or argument.

If our so-called leaders had a fraction of his intellect and clarity on the subjects that plague our nation and dominate our news, we'd all be so much better off.

Don’t usually listen to this type of book but needed something that was compelling from start to finish and then this book certainly fits that!

Other than name recognition, I didn’t really know much about Booker T Washington, that is sad. After listening to this book I now think he is one of the truly great American heroes.

Should be read by every American and his name should be held with the same esteem and reverence as Dr. King.

Candace Owens brings to light the true path for blacks (and all Americans) to achieve the momentous occasion that Martin Luther King Jr. spoke of in his glorious "I have a dream" speech. She is young, exceptional, smart and most of all courageous! She carefully and powerfully describes the current conditions for blacks in America and how we got here. And none of it matches the current mainstream media or liberal narrative which has essentially continued to enslave blacks in a much more sinister and deceptive way.

This book should be read by all Americans but it is blacks that would benefit most as it has the power and reason to expose them to a completely different (non victim) way to perceive the current status of black culture in America. There are other powerful black conservative voices and they too deserve to be heard but Candace stands out. Some people just seem appointed (perhaps anointed) for a certain destiny.

I hope and pray that Candace will continue with her truthful and inspirational message to blacks realizing that she'll continue to be viciously maligned by the liberal/democrat/left as her Blexit campaign represents a real threat to put the Democrat party out of business if they lose the black vote they relentlessly pander for and feel entitled to.

This voice and this perspective have the power to change everything from the depressing daily narrative being fed to us daily to one of hope and real change. There is nothing I would like to see more than all black Americans reach their full potential and I believe the truths and insights in Candace's book offer the greatest opportunity for that to become a reality.

I average about one audible book a week or fifty a year. Although I listen to a wide variety of books many of the books I get are non-fiction and are inspiring stories about amazing people. This book is definitely not that. I got this based solely on the 4.9 ranking and I'm in utter disbelief that this is a true rating for this book. I'd never heard of this person before and knew nothing about her.

A half hour into the book I desperately wanted to pull the plug and stop listening, something I almost never do and rarely am compelled to do in the books I choose. I can only surmise that all these 5 star reviews are coming from others who are or were addicts and most likely her fans.

I've never watched or heard any of her comedy routines...nor do I ever care to. I found the juvenile use of the "f-word" in every sentence (often multiple times in the same sentence) to be repulsive. But her whole life prior to getting sober is pretty much repulsive. I kind of felt like I needed to shower after reading this. I didn't find one character in this book to be appealing or someone that I'd want to know.

Her reading it made it seem like the whole book was some kind of desperately exaggerated gutter comedy performance which had zero appeal to me. She does have a bit of talent doing character impersonations and accents and I'm glad for her that she seems to be on a better path than she was. Still, having spent money on this book, I feel like an "Idiot".
