Historia
It is the morning of the reaping that will kick off the 10th annual Hunger Games. In the Capitol, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is preparing for his one shot at glory as a mentor in the Games. The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able to out charm, outwit, and outmaneuver his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute. The odds are against him. He’s been given the humiliating assignment of mentoring the female tribute from District 12, the lowest of the low.

it wasn't as inspiring as its successors. Maybe I'm simply not interested in the other side of the story

Historia
When I arrive unannounced at my husband's studio in need of a shoulder to cry on after hearing that my best student, Alex, has died, I see a pair of wineglasses drying by the sink, and my deepest fear is confirmed: my husband is having an affair. Most women would fall to their knees in tears and throw him out of the house - but I just can't bring myself to do it. Instead, I go home and cook a healthy dinner for our children, walk the dog, and unload the dishwasher without complaint. I need this marriage to work to protect a terrible secret of my own....

Annoyingly good, requires patience and curiosity
Revisado: 06-12-21
Spoiler free
It's hard to like the main character. Many times I screamed at her, to the discomfort of those around me. I got plenty of dirty looks at the reactions I had over this book. I was exasperated and annoyed many times. Kudos to the author, for being able to instill those emotions in me, at times I found myself stressing over decisions made by the main character. Anyone might have given up out of frustration, but the curiosity of figuring out where the author was taking the story, kept me reading (listening). I must say I'm glad I did, the author tied every single loose end, to my delight. Everything had a solution and I couldn't have predicted any of it. So to whoever considers reading this book, be patient, take breaks, get a punching bag, I sure could have used one.

I absolutely loved this book. Anita is back to being the crime solver, strong female character I loved in the first books of the serie.

Interesting read
Revisado: 12-24-18
Politics aside, I personally loved the candid way Mrs. Obama delivered many great messages to both young and old, through the telling of her story. Even when some criticize her success at earning a place in one of the most prestigious universities, and her work in the community both before and during her stay in the white house, she manages to stay firm in her beliefs and her stand in life. She is a person whom worked hard to get there and worked harder to stay firm against all odds. She delivers a story full of challenges with her successes and failures, in a relaxed and almost intimate way. I enjoyed reading her story.

Excellent non partisan view
Revisado: 06-10-18
It was an easy to read recount of 3 different presidents and the important role of our government pillars. I hope many read beyond the partisan lines and absorb the message of the book. I hope the future leaders of the country read and learn about leadership from this book. It is a defining moment in history and this book might be a great history lesson in the future.

Mrs. Briggs delivers again
Revisado: 03-08-17
I was surprised by the change in story format so I read a bit wearily. I expected to be lost and I was indeed lost... lost in the timeline, lost in the adventure and lost once again to the amazing story. The narrators deliver the story and managed to keep me from missing the single narrator novel. Mrs. Briggs delivered another fantastic story and the narrators managed to bring it to life.

Another interesting twist to the series
Revisado: 03-05-16
I like the fact Mrs. Estep finally gave Gin a challenge worth much more than a big fight. This instalment finally gets Gin away from the routine of killing enemies left and right. Well almost, Gin can't really be Gin without being covered in the blood of her enemies, but this time there is more in the line for Gin. Gin's brother, Fin, has some hard time coming his way and Gin will be there even when be doesn't want her too.
We discover along Gin a spider web that gets scarier and more interesting. Everything Gin thought she knew is crumbling down and I can't wait to read more about it.

When an unknown someone shoots him and leaves him to die, Harry Dresden hopes he might be heading to a better place. Unfortunately being dead doesn't make Harry's life any easier. Trapped between life and death, he learns that his friends are in serious trouble. Only by finding his murderer can he save his friends and move on - a feat that would be a lot easier if he had a body and access to his powers. Worse still are the malevolent shadows that roam Chicago, controlled by a dark entity that wants Harry to suffer even in death.
