Historia
The year is 1739. Eliza Lucas is sixteen years old when her father leaves her in charge of their family’s three plantations in rural South Carolina and then proceeds to bleed the estates dry in pursuit of his military ambitions. Tensions with the British, and with the Spanish in Florida, just a short way down the coast, are rising, and slaves are starting to become restless. Her mother wants nothing more than for their South Carolina endeavor to fail so they can go back to England. Soon her family is in danger of losing everything.

Good story!

Good story about a forgotten girl. I enjoyed learning about the history of indigo in the US while listening to her story. Loved the inclusion of her letters.

Historia
The hardscrabble folks of Troublesome Creek have to scrap for everything - everything except books, that is. Thanks to Roosevelt's Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project, Troublesome's got its very own traveling librarian, Cussy Mary Carter. Cussy's not only a book woman, however, she's also the last of her kind, her skin a shade of blue unlike most anyone else. Not everyone is keen on Cussy's family or the Library Project, and a Blue is often blamed for any whiff of trouble.

Historia
Robyn and Wren have fought the zombie hordes. They have battled ruthless thugs and lowlifes. Together, they have done the impossible. But now they are faced with a new horror neither could have imagined. Stretched to the very limits of their physical and mental endurance, the clock is ticking. They thought they knew what terror was. They were wrong. They thought they knew what pain was. They were wrong. This is a foe like no other. This is a fight like no other. This is a fear like no other. This is the end of everything.

Another hit!
Revisado: 08-04-21
This series is SO good!! I love the growth in Susan. I love the memories at the end. The section with the surprise return of characters at the school was great and unexpected! Can’t wait to start book 7!! And, as always, Kim does an outstanding job narrating this outstanding story:)

Historia
Since escaping the zombie-infested cities, there has been no respite for Robyn and Wren. Now, though, the sisters finally have a chance to start afresh. But the world has other plans. They thought they’d reached a safe community. What they’d found was a powder keg with a lit fuse. Their hardest lessons are only just being taught. With love comes sacrifice. With sacrifice comes pain. With pain comes sadness. With sadness comes anger.

Series is still going strong!
Revisado: 01-19-21
This story really develops characters that were introduced earlier, some likeable, some not so much. We learn some new and interesting things about the bad guys, too. The action keeps going, but completely new things happen to the poor sisters. The narrator, Kim, does as amazing job, as always!! I love when she reads the garbled speech of people with swollen mouths.
Pick this up, give it a listen, you won’t regret it!!

They escaped the cities. They lived through the storm. But there are more dark clouds forming on the horizon for Wren and Robyn. The undead have made escape impossible. Ruthless gangs patrol the highways, and danger lurks in the shadows. A new friend and a new settlement and things are looking up, though all is not what it seems.

Fantastic narration and story!
Revisado: 01-05-21
Really enjoying the girls’ survival adventures. This book introduces some new likable characters and ends on a hopeful note. But there’s still plenty of close calls. My favorite is the ceiling scene. Can’t wait to see where they go in the next book.
The narration is fantastic! I just love listening to Kim Bretton. She narrates at a comfortable speed in a pleasant voice. Always excited to see her name listed!

Let me start by saying that I don’t typically care for audiobooks because it takes me a bit to process things I hear, and audiobooks don’t usually allow for that. This one does! The narrator is amazing!! It’s one of the best audiobooks I’ve listened to in years! There are pauses when there should be, and it’s easy to tell when different people are speaking. I absolutely loved this series! The story is really good. I love how Robyn changes throughout the three books. The characters are believable, the action has appropriate breaks, and the bad guys are smart. I’m so glad I found this series! On to book audiobook four!

Historia
Demons Beware is unlike anything you've read before dealing with demonic possession no one is safe and that includes the children. The Devil is trying to take Chicago and Heaven by possessing the youths of the city. His plan is as evil as himself and his army knows that failure is not an option. Father Joseph who thought that his wars against the Devil were over is the only one who knows how to stop them. With the aid of a much younger priest, who is a devout and faithful believer in his maker, but less in the darker things in life.

Interesting twist, great voices
Revisado: 10-06-20
Really liked this book! There’s an interesting twist on how the demons are trying to beat God. Loved that it was from the point of view of kids. Salzman does an excellent job with the voices. There’s lots of dialog and varied characters, and I was never confused on who was talking. The pacing is good, but Salzman always does a fine job on that. Loved the demon voice! Creepy!! Overall, great story and great audio!
