Pretty and popular high school senior Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend, Sal Singh, who then killed himself. It was all anyone could talk about. And five years later, Pip sees how the tragedy still haunts her town. But she can't shake the feeling that there was more to what happened that day. She knew Sal when she was a child, and he was always so kind to her. How could he possibly have been a killer?

Maybe for a different age audience
Revisado: 03-14-23
I was not aware who the target audience was. I assume it for High School age readers. It was very outlandish. I think there is a lot of potential there. With maturity and experience the future books can be much more enjoyable. It was very hard not to just return.

Painful listen
Revisado: 12-03-21
The narrator half the time sounds like she recorded individual words and they just strung them together. Story wasn’t terrible or great but the narration made it painful to listen to.

Historia
Kara and her family have found their dream home: A two-story French country house on a wooded lot in idyllic Gracie Town - it's perfect. Or so they thought. They've hardly unpacked before the bizarre happens: Kara catches herself calling four-year-old Lilah by someone else's name. Pranks on the family begin, the playroom door won't stay shut, and turkey vultures keep circling, forever watching. When a statue is found on the property, Lilah is instantly attached to the creepy “dolly.” Soon after the discovery, Kara’s dreams turn nightmarish.

Bad plot

Just not a good plot. Conclusion was not worth the wait. I had to go bad several times because I would lose interest and stop listening.

One of my favorite
Revisado: 07-11-19
Wonderful imaginative plot idea that kept me fascinated and guessing what the final outcome would be until the last. Most I’ve figured out and feel disappointed that there was no surprise or ah ha moment at the end. Lucy Dawson brilliant as was the job the narrators did preforming it.
Sincerely,
Reg

Over written over performance
Revisado: 07-13-16
I tried to return it after I realized it was not going to get any better after the first hour. They informed me that I could not return via Internet and would have to contact customer service directly. I figured they must have a rule on how many time you can be unsatisfied with a book. So I listen to the entire book angry with the overuse of the word peered and the repetitive descriptions over describe and never making a direct point. What I call wishy washy characters that constantly seemed to have to correct themselves every time they made a statement. Honestly I felt like the author was given an assignment and it had to be a certain number of words. So they threw in as many as they possibly could. By the end I asked someone else to listen a couple of the worst chapters and they agreed with me completely. So there ya go. I would not recommend this book as an audio good listen.
