Historia
Beautiful, accomplished, and beloved, Ellen Greenberg was a vivacious and affectionate teacher of young children she adored. Always upbeat, she deeply loved her family and friends, and especially her fiancée, Sam Goldberg, with whom she was planning a wedding. In fact, they’d just sent out the save-the-date announcements when, on January 26, 2011, Ellen was found in the kitchen of the luxury apartment she shared with Sam, a knife still plunged in her chest.

Heartbreaking and infuriating
Revisado: 04-26-25
I love the Philadelphia area and I teach criminal justice. I've been following this case for years. Nancy Grace did an awesome job in laying out this miscarriage of justice and giving voice to the outrage that I feel. I keep praying that the truth will be revealed for the sake of Ellen's parents.

Sad but so powerful

Sad but so powerful
Revisado: 11-10-24
I went into this one curious about the relationship between this crime and the movie, but walked away with so much more. This is truly a deep dive into so many social issues, poverty, mental illness, race, policing. But portrayed in a way that was compassionate and challenging. I really did enjoy this and it definitely was the kind of podcast that sits with you long after you finish listening to it.

Historia
Queenie Jenkins is a 25-year-old Jamaican British woman living in London, straddling two cultures and slotting neatly into neither. She works at a national newspaper, where she’s constantly forced to compare herself to her white middle-class peers. After a messy breakup from her White long-term boyfriend, Queenie seeks comfort in all the wrong places...including several hazardous men who do a good job of occupying brain space and a bad job of affirming self-worth.

Loved it!
Revisado: 04-24-24
First, I must say that the narrator was AMAZING!!! Now onto the book....I wasn't sure about this book, but was quickly hooked. I could relate to Queenie in so many ways. And I adored her family. I listened to this book while in the train to and from work, there were a few many times when I caught myself laughing out loud.

I want to live in the 23rd century!!!
Revisado: 12-26-23
I really enjoyed this book. The writer did a good job and putting us in the 23rd century. The characters were relatable. And I was surprised at how much humor there was and what was basically a love story. I also enjoyed the dynamic of mother and daughter. there was a good intergenerational thing there. The narrator was awesome. I love her voice. she had a great range and did a good job capturing the emotions. overall I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good futuristic Love story, with some laughs mixed in too.

This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.
