Incredible!
Revisado: 06-30-21
Beautiful in every way. The performance was impeccable. The writing was honest and a gift. The direction was perfection. I learned, I laughed, I cried. We need to listen and do better.

Revisado: 02-26-21
This book was unexpectedly AMAZING! So compelling and it draws you in from the start. Every time I feared the author was taking a traditional path she proved me wrong. And the story is only made better by the fabulous narration! Love love love!

God is change. That is the central truth of the Earthseed movement, whose unlikely prophet is 18-year-old Lauren Olamina. The young woman's diary entries tell the story of her life amid a violent 21st-century hell of walled neighborhoods and drug-crazed pyromaniacs - and reveal her evolving Earthseed philosophy. Against a backdrop of horror emerges a message of hope: if we are willing to embrace divine change, we will survive to fulfill our destiny among the stars.

Phenomenal
Revisado: 11-11-20
Loved the narrator, though I did listen at 1.2 speed because it felt a little slow to me. This story is so compelling and pulls you in from the start. I cannot wait to start the next book! And of course this story is very relevant to our time. A must listen!

Historia
Ah, Christmas! Gemma Doyle is looking forward to a holiday from Spence Academy, spending time with her friends in the city, attending ritzy balls, and on a somber note, tending to her ailing father. As she prepares to ring in the New Year, 1896, a handsome young man, Lord Denby, has set his sights on Gemma, or so it seems. Yet amidst the distractions of London, Gemma's visions intensify, visions of three girls dressed in white, to whom something horrific has happened, something only the realms can explain.

Historia
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

I'm Conflicted
Revisado: 06-10-20
While I quite enjoyed the story I can't help but think that it's just a huge rip off of The Legend of Zelda if it were a D&D campaign. There seemed to be very little that the author added of their own concepts. The performance was fantastic though!

Criminal Minds as an Audio Drama
Revisado: 05-27-20
Definitely felt like I was listening to an episode of criminal minds. performances were wonderful though sometimes felt forced. I was a little disappointed by the sound effects. It would have worked better without any at all as opposed to having them for some moments and not others. But all in all well written and it took me on a journey!

Fantastic narration aside from a couple pronunciation changes from book 1 to book 2. I was absorbed into the story and I could hardly even realize it was the same person creating all the wonderful voices. fantastic story. loved it!

Compelling
Revisado: 02-13-20
Such a wonderful story. Compelling characters and content. A little disappointed with the production value. There were some disruptive cuts in the recording and painful plosives and whistle-y "S" sounds. Wish those had been corrected even though I know it's time consuming to do all those pick ups. But the character voices were consistent and made sense. All in all an enjoyable listen.

Disappointing
Revisado: 06-27-19
Very disappointed in the female narrator. Her women all sounded alike and the main character's accent changes from American to Hispanic to Irish to Ukrainian. The male narrator did a decent job.
The story was superficial and I was bothered by how much the author mentioned Magic: The Gathering without really knowing how it works.
