Historia
Maren Yearly is a young woman who wants the same things we all do. She wants to be someone people admire and respect. She wants to be loved. But her secret, shameful needs have forced her into exile. She hates herself for the bad thing she does, for what it's done to her family and her sense of identity; for how it dictates her place in the world and how people see her - how they judge her. She didn't choose to be this way.

Enjoyable but ending blah
Revisado: 09-18-22
I enjoyed this audiobook and the narration was perfect. However, I expected more of an ending. I don’t know how it could have ended differently and part of it did catch me off guard. But when the story was over I didn’t feel anything; I guess the best way to describe it was unsatisfying. But, it was an interesting story and an excellent narrator so I do recommend it.

Best book I’ve heard in a very long time
Revisado: 08-16-21
Billy Summers by Stephen King is one of my top two novels of all time. (The other being The Goldfinch.) The story was marvelous but the narration made it incredibly compelling and so easy to fall into the different characters, even though there was a single narrator.
Years ago, I was a huge fan of Stephen King, but the last book by him that was this good was Duma Key and Billy Summers is as good as that if not better. Excellent!

Needs to be a series!
Revisado: 04-27-19
For anyone who works or has ever worked in foodservice, this is a go-to book. And for those who haven’t, this should be an eye-opener. Sometimes, the author as the narrator is a big mistake; not in this cast. Matt and Ted were perfect. Another narrator, might have added too much inflection. These guys were measured and even, reflecting how they had to operate during their gigs.
I would have loved it if they name dropped on big events, but I also want them to: a) write another book in another city (Miami?) and b) do a documentary (like Fyre).
I definitely recommend this.

Historia
To know Donald J. Trump - to understand what makes the 45th president of the US tick - it is best to start in his natural habitat: Palm Beach, Florida. It is here he learned the techniques that took him all the way to the White House. Painstakingly, over decades, he has created a world in this exclusive tropical enclave and favorite haunt of billionaires where he is not just president but a king. The vehicle for his triumph is Mar-a-Lago, one of the greatest mansions ever built in the US.

Provides insight into the world of Mar-A-Lago and how Trump changed it. Excellent narration also. Easy to listen to so it was a quick listen and very enjoyable.

Enjoyable Listen
Revisado: 07-21-15
Where does China Rich Girlfriend rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
CRG probably ranks in the middle of the pack of the books I have listened to. Easy to follow and pick up where I left off.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
The ending seemed to be quite abrupt. I would have shortened some of the middle content and wrapped up the ending a bit better...or conversely, dangled a situation which would be the start of the third book.
What about Lydia Look’s performance did you like?
At first (after listening to Crazy Rich Asians) I had to get accustomed to Ms. Look's narration. But after a short while I really enjoyed it. I host Chinese exchange students and I realized how authentic her pronunciation of English from a Chinese person was.
Any additional comments?
I did not like the ending.
