Historia
Mallory McMorrow was on the verge of giving up. She knew the work of legislating wouldn’t be easy, but she hadn’t been expecting an insidious culture of sexual harassment, armed protestors storming the state Capitol, or colleagues who had zero interest in reaching across the aisle to get anything meaningful done—and things really needed to get done. Where could one even start? But then fate forced her hand.

Great inspiring book! Love the Workshop!

I hope Mrs. McMorrow will become a greater leader in the Democratic Party and national political action for all the people. I especially loved the workbook chapter. I wish I was younger and could do more, but want to do all I can to put our country back on the right track moving toward a better USA for all of us/we, the people.

Historia
As a botanist and professor of plant ecology, Robin Wall Kimmerer has spent a career learning how to ask questions of nature using the tools of science. As a Potawatomi woman, she learned from elders, family, and history that the Potawatomi, as well as a majority of other cultures indigenous to this land, consider plants and animals to be our oldest teachers.

The epitome of an audiobook
Revisado: 03-02-25
Braiding Sweetgrass is by far the best audiobook I’ve listened to so far. It’s been restful, peaceful, thought-provoking and inspiring in all its hours and minutes. The story of her American Indian heritage, her teaching, learning and love of biology have been a college alumni book club experience I did not first choose myself but I’m so glad that my new friends did select.

Historia
Is the Constitution a living document that needs to evolve with the times? Or should we try to divine the original meaning that our Founding Fathers intended, and hew to that as strictly as possible, as present-day originalists suggest? In The Year of Living Constitutionally, A.J. Jacobs tries to get inside the minds of the Founding Fathers by living as closely as possible to the original meaning of the Constitution.

Makes you think about originalism vs reality
Revisado: 10-09-24
I liked how the story makes you think about judicial originalism vs. the reality of todays laws and legal system
