Beautifully written and narrated
Revisado: 03-28-22
I loved this book, for both its writing and narration. I prefer literary fiction, which this is, with a twist of magical realism. The story is so unique and interesting. Since I don't generally read fantasy books, I do occasionally enjoy intriguing stories laced with magical realism. To me the quality of the writing and narration is essential to an audible book worth reading and this novel has both. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel to Weather Woman, which I believe is entitled Sinking Islands, hopefully soon to be on Audible,

A masterpiece but sometimes hard to listen to
Revisado: 10-29-15
What made the experience of listening to A Little Life the most enjoyable?
This is such a rich, beautifully written and narrated novel that it transfixed me for almost 33 hours of listening. Because the parts involving abuse are so heart-rendering and graphic, it was sometimes difficult to listen to. But is truly was one of the best novels I've read. It drew me in and kept me rooting for the central characters. I highly recommend it as long as you think you can take the difficult subject matter.

Historia
Today is Leonard Peacock's birthday. It is also the day he hides a gun in his backpack. Because today is the day he will kill his former best friend, and then himself, with his grandfather's P-38 pistol. But first he must say good-bye to the four people who matter most to him: his Humphrey Bogart - obsessed next-door neighbor, Walt; his classmate Baback, a violin virtuoso; Lauren, the Christian homeschooler he has a crush on; and Herr Silverman, who teaches the high school's class on the Holocaust.

If you could sum up Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock in three words, what would they be?
poignant, well-written, gripping
What was one of the most memorable moments of Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock?
so many but I particularly enjoyed his time with Walt
Which scene was your favorite?
pancake breakfast with his mother
Any additional comments?
I would give this 4.5 stars if I could. Leonard is a wonderful, interesting character. His view of life and people is touching and, at times, comical. I'm a 60+ attorney, grandma and avid reader. I don't have much free time so I am pretty particular about books I bother to write reviews about but this one was really hard to put this down. beautifully written. If you liked Goldfinch, you'll enjoy this.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I am NOT a fan of Stephen King but this book was totally different from the few others of his that I've read, including The Dome which was terrible. I found this story captivating and it was well-written and the narration was good too. You'll never read a story like this one. Well done, King.

okay for a chick lit book
Revisado: 12-03-10
I would not have bought this if I'd realized it was chick lit. Being cheap, I forced myself to listen to the whole book. Not a literary piece but okay if you are into this type of book. I must not have read the reviews closely enough or listened to the sample recording.

Revisado: 01-31-09
I really enjoyed this book. The author has great skill in telling an interesting story with complex and rich characters. Definitely a step above the usual contemporary fiction. It was well-written and narrator was wonderful. I don't often write reviews but had to write one for this. Couldn't put it down.
