could not finish
Revisado: 04-01-25
I tried really hard to finish this book. But I rolled my eyes too many times, I just couldn't continue. The main character is foolish and naive, and if I hear the name Fredrick one more time I'm gonna go crazy.

Historia
Everything about my life is a lie. As a hidden twin princess, born second, I have only one purpose―to sacrifice my life for my sister if death comes for her. I’ve been living under the guise of a poor, obscure girl of no standing, slipping into the palace and into the role of the true princess when danger is present. Now the queen is dead and the ageless King Eidolon has sent my sister a gift―an eerily familiar gift―and a proposal to wed. I don’t trust him, so I do what I was born to do and secretly take her place on the eve of the coronation.

does not uphold up the standard of previous books
Revisado: 02-19-25
too much pointless spice, not enough substance. the ending is basically the same as book 1. I feel pretty let down and I don't see how it can go on for 2 more books.

Look. I don't leave reviews, especially on spicy books. But I don't think I've ever been so enraptured by a book. The writing has flaws, but it was so hard to notice because the narration was so amazing. These two narrators are the perfect team, the back and forth from her to him was so seamless, and there was so much chemistry, I just couldn't stop listening. I LOVED THIS AUDIBLE BOOK.

All Leith has left is his battle-scarred body, fueled by rage and hardened from years of fighting for the right to live another day. I enjoyed the story
Revisado: 11-27-24
I liked the story, and the female narrator was good, but the male narrator sounded like Batman and was hard for me to hear and understand even when the sound was turned up. That whisper-growl made it somewhat unpleasant to listen to Leithe's pov.

Boring and bland narrator
Revisado: 06-04-21
I couldn't make it far enough into the book to be able to accurately say if the book is good. The narrator is boring and bland and the sound is poor quality, like he's recording in an open room. I couldn't follow which character was speaking as he didn't even try to create new voices or even use a different tone.

Historia
The orphaned Elsie Camden learned as a girl that there were two kinds of wizards in the world: those who pay for the power to cast spells and those, like her, born with the ability to break them. But as an unlicensed magic user, her gift is a crime. Commissioned by an underground group known as the Cowls, Elsie uses her spellbreaking to push back against the aristocrats and help the common man. Elite magic user Bacchus Kelsey is one elusive spell away from his mastership when he catches Elsie breaking an enchantment. To protect her secret, Elsie strikes a bargain.

Historia
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

Historia
Beelzebub, the prince of demons, is bored. It's his destiny to one day rule the dark underworld known as the Red Realm, but it's sooo boring down there. All he wants to do is lay around all day in the lava pits (ahhh), boss everyone around (rude!), and maybe play a cruel prank (or two). But Beelzebub's father has had it with his son's nasty attitude. No one backtalks the Red King. NO ONE. A disgraced Beelzebub is banished by his father and cursed to spend his days in the worst place either of them can imagine. EARTH.

Misophonia sufferers beware! 🤬🤢
Revisado: 02-19-20
I have no clue about the quality of the story, but if you are anything like me and cannot STAND the sounds of people eating or other bodily noises, don’t even start this. In the first few minutes that was just way too much for me to handle. Tried skipping past it, it just continued. Honestly could not make it any further to find out if this was actually a good story or not.
