Selbst nach 250 Batches ist keine der Folgen auch nur im geringsten Langweilig. Ich lebe in LA und habe das Brauen hier an der Westküste gelernt. Ich lerne in Deinem Potcast nun endlich auch die deutschen Begriffe beim Brauen.

Ich braue seit 2011 zu Hause und bin inzwischen bei Batch 250 oder so. Ich habe das Brauen in USA gelernt wo ich auch lebe. Habe ein Grainfather G40 und G30 mit zwei fermenters und Glycol chiller seit kurzem. Ich kann sage dass dieser Potcast erste Sahne ist! Ich lerne mit jeder Folge etwas dazu was ich hier in USA nie gefunden habe. Einfach klasse!!!

Starting with that I'm not a doctor and a nutritionist.. may be that's a good thing. I was very interested inn setting back my weight set point, so I purchased the audio book. I'm an almost carnivore and I love to practice intermittent fasting. As an Engineer like the author I like to have clear facts and they also should be complete if possible. The author did not research the issues thoroughly. Some areas are completely missing:
1. The poisoning capabilities of the plant food he recommends, like Oxalates in Spinach and Lectins in the plants. Fill your plate like recommended with 50% plants and you will get the full doses of the poison with only partially bio available protein.
2. Fat is the most healthy food you can eat and even Olive oil is perfect to use for low heat cooking and enhancing the flavor of dry meat like Chicken breast. The author put Olive oil in the bad corner
3. No word about the properties of fasting for set point lowering activity
4. He promotes the egg white over the Yoke! Protein over fat. An organic egg is a whole food and must not be split in white and yoke.
5. When it comes to Phycology he looses it totally. All he states about the function of the brain is false data and proven wrong since a long time. Humans consist of a Body, Mind and Spirit. The brain is a part of the body and functions as interface between the 3 parts. Just skip the whole Psych part.
6. No critics without mentioning positive things: The exercise part is described pretty well when it comes to resistance training.

I suggest to read Dr. Jason Fung's books. There is a lot of simple working truths in them without blowing a 20 page book to an Elephant.

The part about red wine and plant food was new for me. It is also very good that the book talks about balanced food and moderate consumption. Precise advise what to eat and what not. I like and make beer, but there are no health benefits in beer, only in wine. So I will try now to merge both of them and ferment some red grapes in the beer. I hope I can bring it to a good tasting healthy liquid!

The narrator is very good with highlights the correct parts of the sentences. The content is clear and I understand much better now how to change the weight set point if my body. Jason is very funny too and brings up some good analogies. I will listen to this again.
