Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Love this series, but…
Revisado: 08-07-24
I love this series. The mysteries are fun and entertaining, and I care about the cast of interesting, well built characters. My only critique at this point in the series is that the main character, Jake, just doesn’t mature at all. He’s a total hot head, to the point of almost stupidity at times (at least in this one). I know it’s supposed to be that way, but it’s dull. He’s not learning from his mistakes, and that’s not noble or heroic, it’s honestly just plain dull. I’m disappointed in him (I know, I know… it’s a book - but I like the book, and I like him!). I want him to succeed and grow, but instead he’s just stuck repeating the same foolish mistakes, that are supposed to seem noble, endearing, maybe even masculine or chivalric. But it’s not. It’s getting annoying. I’m hoping the next one is a little different and that we see some kind of maturing with him. Funnily enough - I’m totally going to read/listen to them all regardless…

Revisado: 07-02-24
Zara brings these stories to life. I cannot hear the characters any other way now. Im addicted to these books - this and the St. Mary’s series. Fun and hilarious, the characters make me care, and no book is ever long enough! Haha I am always so sad when they end, but cannot wait for the next.

Revisado: 01-06-24
I just love this series. The world building is solid and realistic, everything parallels ours so cleanly without overdoing it. The witches and supernatural world are well rounded. And the main character is sympathetic and engaging - and real. Fun story. Great audio read, too. The reader is fantastic.

I’m hooked…ish.
Revisado: 12-04-23
I like the story. There are some parts that irk me. I don’t like the aw-shucks stuff, it rings false. And the hunter’s persona was flatter than I think it should have been. When moments arose to really flesh out the characters, it didn’t happen. That disappointed me. I wish we had a little more closure on the main character’s (or anyone’s) backstory. The tension/buy-in ratio was off. But the author has potential, his works building is interesting. Hopefully the next book will do more with the character building. But all in all, the book was entertaining. I’m hooked, for now. On to book 2…

Winter house review
Revisado: 09-17-23
I liked the book and I have no regrets or anything bad to say about this book. I would recommend this book to anybody that shows interest in mystery and adventurous sort of books. I would suggest being 9 or older for this because even I (I’m ten) was just a little scared at the last part. But then again there’s the thing that I loved this book.

Birdie Binkowitz is just a little bitter. As a young actress, she was the toast of Hollywood, definitely destined for greatness. Then the dragons had to rise up from their thousand-year slumber, take over Earth and ruin everything. Twenty years later, Birdie is living her worst life in her hometown of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, working at her father's Seed and Feed (and Bagels). Then, a mysterious dragon appears in front of the store seeking her help. He’s got a bone to pick with his fellow dragons–and he wants to hit them where it hurts.

As per usual, Kane delivers a humorous adventure. Loved the characters, and the nods to adventure/RPG crews. Writing was solid, story progressed smoothly, and dialogue had me laughing.

Love it
Revisado: 07-19-21
Seriously - this series is one of the freshest and funniest out there. Hilarious and consistently entertaining. And I love the narrator, Bahni Turpin. Her voice work is fantastic and only adds to the humor. Im walking around the house shouting Glaaaare! at random intervals. Listen to the first book to understand that reference. It will appear again.
