Cormoran Strike is the new Sherlock Holmes

I can't imagine any lover of mystery & detective stories being able to pass up a "Robert Galbraith" novel.
This one is perhaps the best so far of the four Cormoran Strike mysteries.
Complicated in plot, realistic and harder to shake loose from than hot tar.
This is not a novel you get to listen to a little and then set down to go do something else.
Make plans, set aside the time or you'll forget all about that appointment later today.

All around great detective stories

Maybe the best detective stories I've heard in years.
Always something happening between the characters to keep your mind engaging the stories.
And those characters are well developed. Good books.

What disappointed you about The Store?

Didn't make it past the first 6 chapters. Grovels in adolescent sex wishing.
A 14 to 25 year old might find it entertaining.

What did you love best about Sherlock Holmes?

I haven't had this much fun with Sherlock Holmes since Jeremy Brett.Like the late and much missed Mr. Brett, Steven Fry has done justice to the Sherlock Holmes that Arthur Colin Dole wrote. Bringing the story and all involved into such motion and life that you do find yourself thinking of them as if they were real people. If Steven Fry ever reads Bram Stoker's Dracula; I am afraid that the rest of my life will require a close relationship with garlic!

"I loved it" just doesn't do it justice. Dole's stories of Sherlock Holmes that taught me to love reading more than Treasure Island, To Kill A Mocking Bird or any other book I ever owned couldn't have been placed in better hands. Fine work Mr. Fry!

If you could sum up The Eaton in three words, what would they be?

As good as King's stories.

What did you like best about this story?

It's hard to find a spooky story that doesn't soon become predictable. This one throws in just enough odd to be fun and just enough conflict to be interesting.

What does Jeff Hays bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Good personalities to the voices. Almost no bleed over from one into the other.
No need to cringe when male switches to female voice. Not an easy task to accomplish.
Good distinction of each personality in the story. Very well done.

What did you love best about The Clintons' War on Women?

Seems well researched throughout most of the book. Money crimes & personal hate crimes by Hillary are well documented, Bill's sex crimes and his money laundering are given the same step by step supporting facts in his presentation. Some of the latter chapters became more feeling of the writer's emotions and conjecture than reinforced fact. But in fairness, I will never be able to talk about these two people without my feelings of disgust coming through as well.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

How often with all the facts and illegal acts by these two people have been brought out into the open or could have been, yet they have been allowed to walk free. John Gotti wasn't really a bad guy if he's compared to the Clinton's. They've gone out of their way to raise contemptible to a new level.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The pattern of the illegal behavior which is usually the down fall of most criminals has been ignored in their crimes. They do the same things as if they had a check list and yet they walk free.
