Since the lifetime movie aired, I have loved Betty Broderick's tale. Dirty John brought the story back into the mainstream with a light that shown on aspects of Betty's the earlier films omitted. Turns out the lifetime movie was based off info given to film makers by Dan's brother. Here, in this book, the veil of bias is lifted and we meet Betty Broderick, perhaps for the first time.

One of the Great's War Stories

This should be required for law students everywhere. Told through Gerry Spence's lyrical voice, we get the inside story of remarkable cases. Beyond great stories, the book provides tips and lessons for success in the courtroom. I am so grateful Spence assembled this recitation of his epic war stories.

I am getting my Masters of Law in Constitutional Law right now thus, I read SCOTUS opinions regularly. But because I am extremely dyslexic and a former music major, I am an audio learner. I have struggled to find ways to have the opinions read aloud. When downloading them and having a separate app read the cases the cases include in text citations. The opinion then becomes very difficult to follow. Especially, because they are full cites with all three reporter numbers, making the cites impossibly long.

I am so grateful for someone to read these aloud in such a thoughtful and easy to follow way. Thank you! 🙏

Fan request: Mr. Dieken, could you also read the dissents and concurrences? I know that makes what you do a longer task. But, for example, in Whole Women's v. Jackson, it'd have been cool to have Roberts' and Sotomayor's important opinions read aloud. Plus, we never know what concurrence could be the next Youngstown or dissent that could be the next Lochner.

I read this book 10 years ago in high school and fell in love with Tudor England. I loved having it read to me this time. Weir's style is lyrical enough that the tales become addictive when read aloud. Truly a fantastic piece of scholarship, the book is detailed, thorough, and beautifully written. Most uniquely, the stories are conveyed passionately. I have nothing but praise for Weir's works because her excitement for the topic is evident in every phrase.

Perhaps the greatest of the Great Courses! Everyone could find something interesting and inspiring in these lectures. Terrific story telling ability, a wealth of knowledge and passion for the subject. May need to listen again because I had so much fun.

very passionate lecturer. comprehensive and a strong summary of large economic issues in broad strokes. i wish the course were longer so the professor could delve deeper into these topics. that's the only real issue is it's too short.

The Great Peter Irons

A staple in legal scholarship, Peter Irons' work never disappoints. Specifically, when Irons begins talking about the Supreme Court you can hear his energy take flight. A professor who is an artist at his craft and teaches each course with immense passion. Cannot recommend this course enough.

The Essential for Any True Libertarian

Libertarians get a bad rep, mainly because those who claim to be libertarians have no idea what it means. This is essential listening for anyone who wishes to expand their understanding of libertarianism and not rely on preconceived notions. The book is far from political rather, it is philosophical. Boaz contextualizes libertarian philosophy as to show its true form.
