This tale of is kind of a new twist on boy meets alien. As a rule the alien lives longer than the first couple of pages, or it goes bad really bad for the human. In this case neither of those things happened. Got to admit I enjoyed it and it kept me entertained. Made this trip move right along.

There is not much that can be said without spoiling the book. There are a couple of things that should be pointed out. If you liked "Skippy The Magnificent" from Craig Alanson's Expeditionary Force series, you're going to love this one. There is an enormous similarity here.

The author lost a point for briefly allowing his politics into the story by telling us one news source is more likely to be subverted than another. There some of that surrounding COVID as well. While these two minor fouls drew a five yard penalty, that did not lose the game.

I recommend this one. You won't be disappointed.

This overview of Hunter Biden's laptop is the stuff federal charges are made of. Hunter's blatant influence peddling and acting as bag man for the rest of the Biden family is fascinating in the same way as watching a horrific auto accident. One finds it difficult to turn away.

What is difficult to understand is why the FBI and other federal law enforcement agencies were not all over this when the laptop first went public. That fact alone could leave people with the impression federal authorities don't act against the politically connected and protected.

This book is well worth the listen. Left, right, or don't care, everyone should listen to Hunter's own words and records. They may draw their own conclusions about what Hunter Biden and President Joe Biden are all about. One thing is for certain, many puzzling actions and statements from Joe Biden make a lot more sense in light of the revelations in this book.

On another note, the information in this book is the same imformation Twitter and Facebook desperately tried bury. Twitter canceled the New York Post's Twitter account over it. Facebook actively shadowbanned and overtly banned people mentioning it. Attempts to link the actual New York Post article on Facebook were met with "does not meet community standards" messages of denial.

Here is your chance to find out what all the fuss was about.

How Bourbon came to be what it is in this nation and around the world is a fascinating tale through history. There are bits of trivia most people don't know. The book corrects several urban legends, like the one that says Bourbon only comes from Kentucky. The section on Prohibition was especially interesting.

However, the author injects his politics into the history, which I find annoying. The one of the biggest problems we have in this nation right now is professors and educational institutions polluting the information with irrelevant propaganda. The author made it clear he is all about environmentally friendly production operations and that business is oppressing workers. These little snippets of the author's belief system could have been left out of the telling of this history and all the facts leading up to Bourbon in 2022 America would still be solidly in place.

Reacher lands in rural Texas surrounded by what might be a domestic violence situation. But with all things Reacher, there is far more going on then just what we see on the surface. Like the unseen watchers, for instance. This story was not of Lee Child's best. It kind of dragged in a few spots. However, it really picks up steam as the story works toward the climax. The reader is taken through more than a few twists and turns. Most readers will find the ending a bit of a surprise. It was ok. I didn't find myself wanting to turn it off. But there were a couple places I was kind of wondering if the story would get moving again. However, that may just be me. If you like Reacher, go for it. If you are new to Jack Reacher, don't judge the rest of the series by this installment..

Jack Reacher finds holed up with a house full of bad guys after a shootout with law enforcement officers. This is one of Lee Child's better stories. It is suspenseful all the way through with twists and turns that keep the listener guessing. The action is intermittent, but there is enough to keep the listener interested. The story made the miles go by fast. The story was good enough to send me searching for another Reacher tale for the next trip.

Deleted is an eye opening look into how the social media companies are playing games with what you see, even experimenting with us like guinea pigs. I have a child that worked for both Twitter and Google. One of my former employees works at Twitter. I bought each of them a Kindle version of the book and asked them their thoughts. They confirm the author is straight up righteous. My son informs me there is far more going on than was in the book. The author is conservative. (I happen to like that.) But before you let the title drive you off, keep in mind these companies and the games they are playing effect everyone, regardless of their political stripes. Never forget, even for a moment, if these people can do this to one group of people, they can do it to everyone. The book held my attention the whole way. The author stays clear of the mind numbing geek stuff. The narration is by the author, but is still easy to follow.

Being a geek at heart, the premise of this book really appealed to me. It did not disappoint. From missed decimal places to computer rounding errors to outright fraud, this books walks you safely through the minefield of common, and not so common math problems. The book is very informative and taught me things about my spreadsheets I never knew.

The book held my attention all the way through. There are even a few laughs in there as well. If you are the kind of person that uses math a lot, or even just balances your bank account by hand every month, I recommend this book to you.

Dr. Rigsby's stories from how his father gave him a moral compass and life ethic are both touching and enlightening. He has a way of sharing those life lessons without lecturing. The listener will laugh and cry with the author as he takes through the keys to life.

This book is well worth the time.

Back in 1996 Bernard Goldberg, a 24 year veteran of CBS News, wrote an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal called "Bias." In that piece he discussed the subtle bias that many network personnel carried into their work.

Since that time, things have gone from subtle to overt. From a fear of what we now call the "cancel culture" and journalists who want to create history rather than report it, the media evolved over the years to what we have now.

Mark Levin nails it in this book. I can personally verify many of the things he writes about.

I've been making TV for coming up on 50 years now, spending the last three decades working primarily in the field with network news crews. During the 2008 presidential campaigns I watched as reporters and producers walked in fear of doing something that would bring the race card down on them.

In other cases there was no journalism involved at all, it was all about getting their candidate elected. I listened as a network producer passed on Rev. Wright's inflammatory sermons with the words, "Our viewers are too stupid to understand the big picture." (ABC broke that story four weeks later.)

Now it is much worse than that.

Levin accurately details the current state of the media in this book. He exposes the motivations and forces that dictate what you see and read in today's media. It is well worth the time. You may come away with an entirely different perspective on what you see and read these days.

Over the course of the Harry Potter series many references are made to children's stories all witches and wizards hear growing up. These are those stories. These stories also give us insight into some of the items Harry and the others use in the series.

This collection of short stories is good. The narration is good. They all held my interest as long as they lasted. My only compliant with the audio book is that it was very short.
