Now what?
Revisado: 10-07-21
I’ve read the print version and today I listened to the audio. What’s the take away? Maybe four or more years ago I picked up Gary Demar’s book on Preterism and I became interested in this concept. It seemed to answer many questions that I had so I continued to read and listen to this doctrine. I became convinced this was the truth. Of course there were repercussions from my new found belief. I was told it was heresy but could not get an audience to discuss why. I was convinced I was right and what I’d been taught and believed was wrong. After reading and recently listening to Roderick Edward’s book I’m convinced I was in error in believing what I’d come to accept as true. The depth of research RoderickE did on the subject impressed me greatly and I found his arguments convincing. He stated in the book that he was not attempting to convince anyone whether they are right or wrong and that was not his purpose in writing. He left the conclusion up to the reader which is his approach in his other books as well. After listening I know I’ve got to move forward but as you can read from my title, ‘Now what?’, I’m not sure where to go from here. I do know that my meeting RoderickE through his writing that he was put in my life to correct my course and for that I’m grateful. I would suggest to anyone that is a seeker of the things of God that you should give a listen and see if you’re not spoken to. Possibly you’re a seeker and want to live your life with purpose and I think this book just might provide some direction for you.

Listening to an audible version of this book is a unique experience. I've read the printed book three times and after this presentation I've gained even more understanding and awareness. Roderick Edwards's treatment of the subject should be required reading for those who wish to be informed.

A poignant assessment of the scourge of slavery. Though fiction the story is based in fact homogeneously fashioned to present the narrative. Excellent reading by a talented orator. Calling someone "Uncle Tom" now has meaning to me.

Historia
In this groundbreaking history of the modern American metropolis, Richard Rothstein explodes the myth that America's cities came to be racially divided through de facto segregation - that is, through individual prejudices, income differences, or the actions of private institutions like banks and real estate agencies. Rather, he incontrovertibly makes clear that it was de jure segregation - the laws and policy decisions passed by local, state, and federal governments - that actually promoted the discriminatory patterns that continue to this day.

The Bible remains the best-selling book of all time, believed by nearly two billion Christians and Jews to be divinely inspired. But in this hard-hitting new book, author Robert J. Hutchinson proposes that it is actually much more than this. The ideas enshrined in the Bible, he says, triggered a revolution in human thought and established the moral and philosophical foundation for Western civilization.

Booker T. Washington fought his way out of slavery to become an educator, statesman, political shaper, and proponent of the "do-it-yourself" idea. In his autobiography, he describes his early life as a slave on a Virginia plantation, his steady rise during the Civil War, his struggle for education, his schooling at the Hampton Institute, and his years as founder and president of the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, which was devoted to helping minorities learn useful, marketable skills.

Revisado: 07-29-20
I thought it would be more about slavery but as any biography he gave a detailed description of his remarkable life and accomplishments. interesting and educational but somewhat dry. I wonder if her would marvel at the success of the race if he were here today. Blacks have suffered continual abuse either by business, government, and the pervasive influence of white supremacy that has been in our history since our founding as a country.
