Historia
Doctor Silas Coade wakes from disturbing dreams, on the steamship Demeter, in pursuit of an extraordinary find almost too incredible and too strange to believe, secreted within a lagoon in the icy inlets of Patagonia. But as they come in sight of their prize, he and the crew see they are not the first to come so far: there is a wreck ahead, and whatever ruined it may threaten them as well. Shaking off his nightmares, Doctor Silas Coade joins his fellow exploders on the deck of the Demeter and realises something has already gone dangerously wrong with their mission.

One of Alastair's best books
Revisado: 01-27-25
As a lover of the Revelation Space series I wasn't sure what to expect from a standalone novel. Well, I can confirm it's one of his best books! Saying more would be giving things away, but the name "Jules Verne" flashed through my mind many times while listening.

The best first contact story I've ever read

An excellent sequel that matches the original in the intricacy of worldbuilding, narration, political intrigue and suspense!

From BSFA award-winning author Gareth L. Powell comes the first in a new epic sci-fi trilogy exploring the legacies of war. The sentient warship Trouble Dog was built for violence, yet following a brutal war, she is disgusted by her role in a genocide. Stripped of her weaponry and seeking to atone, she joins the House of Reclamation, an organization dedicated to rescuing ships in distress. Excellent story, multiple good narrators !
Revisado: 09-01-20
An engaging first book for what looks to be a promising scifi series.
The use of a separate narrator for each character is a very nice touch.

Historia
After the latest mission of the starship Flying Dutchman, Earth is safe not just for a year, but for hundreds of years. The ship’s weary crew wonders what they will do with their lives in peacetime, but the enemy has other plans, and there is danger on the Homefront. Starring Zachary Quinto, R.C. Bray, Kate Mulgrew, Robert Picardo, and everyone's favorite AI, Skippy the Magnificent, alongside a full cast. Includes plenty of pew-pew-pew, original sound composition, and maybe some singing by R.C. Bray.

Best audio drama in the galaxy!

Well, Skippy the Magnificent is at it again! Another fun story in the Joe Bishop universe, with the usual good humour, and bad singing by Skippy.

Historia
Centuries from now, the basic right to expand human intelligence beyond its natural limits has become a war-worthy cause for the Demarchists and Conjoiners. Only vast lighthugger starships bind these squabbling colonies together, manned by the panicky and paranoid Ultras. And the hyperpigs just try to keep their heads down. The rich get richer. And everyone tries not to think about the worrying number of extinct alien civilizations turning up on the outer reaches of settled space...because who's to say that humanity won't be next?

A beautiful set of stories from the RS universe
Revisado: 12-15-16
This collection of short stories will bring you to many places in many eras of the Revelation Space universe, from the First System to the distant parts of the galaxy. They are rather varied, and you will likely have your own favourites.
Do beware of minor spoilers for the main Revelation Space storyline.

A beautifully built and carefully crafted story
Revisado: 04-21-15
A summary just won't do it justice.
The story had me listening every spare minute I had, literally. Captivating would be an understatement.
I don't have time for a detailed review, but I will mention the vast amount of scientific detail that went into parts of the book.
