Historia
More than a million listeners have thrilled to Bill O'Reilly's Killing Lincoln, the can't-stop-listening work of nonfiction about the shocking assassination that changed the course of American history. Now the anchor of The O'Reilly Factor recounts in gripping detail the brutal murder of John Fitzgerald Kennedy—and how a sequence of gunshots on a Dallas afternoon not only killed a beloved president but also sent the nation into the cataclysmic division of the Vietnam War and its culture-changing aftermath.

So much has been written about the Kennedy mystique. So many who lived through this period of time have been hungry to know more about the truth behind the man and his ultimate end. Bill O’Reilly has done a great job to give us a more complete look at the man who gave us a brief glimpse of Camelot.

Not About Burt
Revisado: 11-14-18
I was curious about this book for some time but did not get it until after Burt’s passing. What a delight. Although he narrated it not very long before his death, he tells his story with great clarity. And he surprises you with how many celebrities he knew and THEIR story. He has good to say about almost everyone he’s come in contact with. And his soul is bared as he shows genuine emotion. If you’re a movie buff, this is a book for you. I was amazed at all the actors he had contact with. He portrayed all with style and homey-ness. He pulls no punches when telling about his own experiences. He tells of all the roles he turned down or otherwise missed. He still remained a very gracious man. When he told the back story of Deliverance, I had to rewatch the movie. I will re-listen to this book too.

Historia
The year that changed everything for the Beatles was 1966 - the year of their last concert and of Revolver, their first album created to be listened to rather than performed. This was the year the Beatles risked their popularity by retiring from live performances, recording songs that explored alternative states of consciousness, experimenting with avant-garde ideas, and speaking their minds on issues of politics, war, and religion. Music journalist and Beatles expert Steve Turner investigates the enormous changes that took place in the Beatles' lives and work during 1966.

It Was A Very Good Year
Revisado: 07-14-18
Very detailed look at the influences and development of many of their songs and their lives, all within one pivotal year. They had a heavy influence on me as I followed them from the first time I heard “I Want to Hold Your Hand” on Detroit’s WXYZ in December 1963. Still recovering from Kennedy’s assassination just a month earlier, the Beatles was the breath of fresh air and optimism we needed. They were the reason I learned to play the guitar and the reason I have a ‘67 Rickenbacker similar to George’s. Unfortunately I was not able to go to either of their concerts here in Detroit but I followed them to present day. “The Beatles 1966” is a must read/listen for all hard core fans for a more in depth look at the story behind song development, lyric choices, and personal development of the greatest band that changed music forever.

A Journey Through Life
Revisado: 06-26-18
An absolute joy of a story alternating back and forth from a time as children to a time near life’s end as an incredible life’s tale is told. Avery Stafford, a bright lawyer and daughter of Senator Stafford accidentally is drawn into a quest to uncover a heritage and family history that is troubling, mysterious and heartwarming. Two narrators did a marvelous job portraying the 2 main characters. I would love to see this as a movie but screenwriters always have a way of screwing up the story so I’ll be content with this. We listened to this one twice.

Delayed Suspence
Revisado: 04-19-18
Wow, I was prepared for a sleepy woman’s story that might appeal to my wife. I only read a few reviews which usually annoy me. One was critical of being overly descriptive. But painting a mental picture is hardly a negative fault for an author. This story started a little slow but it sure took off in a big way. It was a nice look at a land foreign to me (Australia). And as the story unfolded I became more comfortable with her Aussie accent. But her pronunciation of her Celica as (se LEEK a) drove me nuts unless she wasn’t talking about a Toyota! Everything else was great. I’d like to see a movie version but they usually screw it up with a terrible rewrite. So take a journey Down-under and visit The Thornwood House and the history of its secret past.

This book traces the entire arc of Ringo's remarkable life and career, from his sickly childhood to his life as the world's most famous drummer to his triumphs, addictions, and emotional battles following the breakup of the Beatles. Born in 1940 as Richard Starkey in the Dingle, one of Liverpool's most gritty, rough-and-tumble neighborhoods, he rose from a hardscrabble childhood marked by serious illnesses, long hospital stays, and little schooling to emerge, against all odds, as a renowned drummer.

Ringo Exposed
Revisado: 10-05-17
Like a million other guys I was that 5th Beatle "born" February 9, 1964 as I watched mesmerized as these so called mop tops enchanted us from the Ed Sullivan theater. I've read many histories of the Beatles and have many books but listening to this account which focuses on the groups talented timekeeper, was an absolute delight. I believe the author tells us in the very beginning that Ringo did not give him his endorsement so it is unauthorized and yet I have to think if he listened to this, he would give him a thumbs up or at least his trademark two fingered peace sign. Thank you Ringo for your place in rock history. And thank you Michael Seth Starr for showing us the depth of this multifaceted human being, warts and all, who has the heart to care about all who he has influenced.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Best Book I've Listened To
Revisado: 06-27-17
Any additional comments?
I did not choose this book because it is a Stephen King novel, but because of the subject matter. I've always been fascinated with time travel and with JFK. I was 13 and in Miss Bohlinger's 8th grade home room when the news came over the new intercom. She told us to all put our heads down and say a silent prayer. Today she probably would have been fired for that!
Horror stories by Stephen King do not draw me but the few movies I've seen based on his books, i.e. "The Green Mile", "The Stand", and others that I can't remember at the moment were very good. However, this book, "11.22.63", I believe, is outstanding. It has something for everyone, suspense, romance, history. Mr. King is extremely talented in his ability to give the reader/listener a vivid picture of what is happening every step of the way. Hardly anything is left to the imagination. Even though everyone will see scenes just a little differently, I'll bet that difference would be minute.
This is also my first experience with Craig Wasson as narrator. Such a perfect choice he is! The emotions he is able to deliver and to differentiate between the various characters is so good. He's not just a reader, he is an actor! He is so convincing as Jake Epping telling his story. And he is so believable as he takes on the accents from New England to the South, to Texas. It's annoying to me to listen to a female narrating a book, lowering her voice for male dialogue but Craig masters his reading of female dialogue.
I wanted to see the film version of this book but resisted the temptation to do so until finishing it first. I just saw the pilot and although it is interesting, I'm glad the book came first. I was very disappointed. So much was changed. I thought that being in 8 parts would allow for very little change and very few cuts. I was looking forward to seeing Jake's '54 red Ford Sunliner. Oh well. But I digress; if you're sitting on the fence about this Audible Book, jump down and dive in. It's addictive but rewarding. You will find it hard to put down and you'll fall in love with the characters that Craig breathes life into. You'll learn a little history too, despite the required disclaimer that declares it's strictly fiction. I believe Stephen King did massive research. He narrates an afterward that was very interesting as well. I hope this helps. Now, get this book and get lost in it!
