Outstanding!!!
Revisado: 01-26-17
The author does a beautiful job of creating the characters, setting the scene and then developing the characters to where you are rooting for them on every page. It was definitely worth the read and I look forward to the follow up novels. Prepare now, it will be a series!

Loved the Russian dialect & accent!!! It made the story seem more alive and easy to follow. Beautifully woven characters with just the right amount of suspense and drama. Wonderful read.

And when they decided she was a liability, they came for her without warning. Now she rarely stays in the same place or uses the same name for long. They've killed the only other person she trusted, but something she knows still poses a threat. They want her dead, and soon.

Definitely Better
Revisado: 05-29-12
If you could sum up The Calling in three words, what would they be?
Captivating, Danger, and Uncertainty
Any additional comments?
This is definitely the second of a series, I hope the author goes on to lead us on this journey of understanding what exactly they are and why they were created. This also had a better ending than the first book, at least we know they are safe and following a lead .... hopefully to a third book. :)

Historia
Strange things are happening in Maya's tiny Vancouver Island town. First, her friend Serena, the captain of the swim team, drowns mysteriously in the middle of a calm lake. Then, one year later, mountain lions are spotted rather frequently around Maya's home and her reactions to them are somewhat . . . unexpected. Her best friend, Daniel, has also been experiencing unexplainable premonitions about certain people and situations.

Great Beginning
Revisado: 05-29-12
Would you consider the audio edition of The Gathering to be better than the print version?
I liked listening to the story, it has a great inner dialogue from the view point of the main character that gives it an overall comfortable feel. I really appreciated the character development, but it lacked a clear ending.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Daniel, he's just such a great guy!
What does Jennifer Ikeda bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
A voice to the character of Mia.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
?
Any additional comments?
I think a lot of the book would get lost if tried to place into a movie, there is just so many little details that would not make it due to time, and like I said, this book has no clear ending, it just ends. It's like the book got too long, so she abrubtly stops and begins the next book.
