Historia
Jean McConville's abduction was one of the most notorious episodes of the vicious conflict known as The Troubles. Everyone in the neighborhood knew the I.R.A. was responsible. But in a climate of fear and paranoia, no one would speak of it. In 2003, five years after an accord brought an uneasy peace to Northern Ireland, a set of human bones was discovered on a beach. McConville's children knew it was their mother when they were told a blue safety pin was attached to the dress--with so many kids, she had always kept it handy for diapers or ripped clothes.

WOW!!!
Revisado: 05-27-20
This is an amazing book. The author has done a superior job of weaving all of the threads into one cohesive narrative. If you have a passing understanding of the conflict in Northern Ireland, get ready for a crash course. It is perfect for the casual reader or the reader, like myself, who feels the need to review material endlessly. A bonus: the narrator has an Irish accent. Highly recommend!!!

Historia
The Decade of Obama (2007-2017) was one of massive change that rewrote the rules of politics in ways we are only now beginning to understand (which is why we all got 2016 wrong). Yes We (Still) Can looks at how Obama navigated the forces that allowed Trump to win the White House to become one of the most consequential presidents in American history, why Trump surprised everyone, and how Democrats can come out on top in the long run.

Nice continuation!
Revisado: 06-02-15
!!!SPOILERS!!!
This was a very nice continuation of the Boleyn books. I was hoping for a more devastating secret from Nicola. The fact that he was screwing Julian's first love was a let down, of sorts. I was expecting something to the effect of Julian was Felix's real father. I DO like the fact that Mary Stuart is in play again. I can only imagine how upset Queen Elizabeth will be when the details of the plot come to light. Here's hoping for another book!!

I acquired this book because I wanted to add some more middle school books to my classroom. The story was fabulous and I ended up designing a unit around it. I am eager to get to the other books in the series.

This was a fabulous conclusion to a great series. The story line was suprising at times but very satisfying. I find myself wanting a sequel just concentrating on Elizabeth's reign.
