I enjoyed part 1, looking forward for part 2. I'm hoping part 2 will bring out a more badass side of the doc. The only thing I didn't like was the spicy 🔥 scenes-I don't think they were spicy at all. I want to feel the butterflies 🦋 as well.

*Spoiler* Sometimes I think there's so much I to say about this book then another time I can't think of what to say. The premise was good but it got boring at times, in the last few hours Scotty was just annoying, his constant gripe, forcing Jay to get over it because Griff is a good guy, he did his time and because they're in love was selfish. He betrayed his trust, invaded his privacy-did the one thing Jay drew boundaries for. Anyway, I did love every moment Jay was upset after he found out about them, especially his anger towards Scott i.e. 7 years of betrayal. He stood his ground, "You're kicking me out", "no I'm protecting myself." He stood on business and I'm so proud of him. However, when he called Scott to talk, It was a no for me, cause why should I be the one apologizing, let grovel some more. I wanted them to die from regret and the betrayal they caused him.
The friendship between Griff and Jarred is too good to be true but, I love it. I get why Griff was sceptical as to why someone would do such good things for them a stranger whose also an ex-con. But it just reminds us there are good people out there and when we find them, we've found a good thing. On the other hand, *WTH would you refuse someone giving you money when you don't have any. Then Jarred gives Griff the opportunity of a lifetime to get training, but the idiot is complaining that there's a catch-foolish. Not to mention wanting to quit because the boss saw him wasted, if Jarred said it was ok, and told him not to worry about it, why on earth would force the issue to give up every good thing he's offering?. Anyway, Jarred made him see sense so that's good.
Scotty OMW, why is he so pushing, the person who lied to his friend and Griff for years gets stuck on simple little things, talking about trust. And yes Griff wants to ensure Scott he's not cheating but, he should have to do so much. He spoils him so I guess it's whatever. Scott wants to know what he wants now.

Maybe I missed it but, I don't remember hearing the years for the time skip.

For the narrators, I give them both a 2.5

I really enjoyed this story. It was funny, sometimes heartfelt, and interesting. The relationship between Rain and Danno was kind of cute. I wanted more tension, angst, and emotional longing, but what the heck? I know Rain wanted to get back with Danny, but sometimes, it felt like Danny wasn't interested. Yes, I get Rain broke his heart when he left the first time, but it felt like Danny was saying whether Rain decides to stay or go, he wouldn't care less. This is my first reading a S.E. Harmon book as well as the first time listening to this narrator; well done, it was a wonderful duo. <3 :)

Neil was great as usual. Nice book, it wasn't overly exciting or had me on the edge of my seat but I still liked it. The stage has been set, hopefully more intense scenes will happen in the next 2 books.

Thoughts:
-This book reminded me that not because someone who has the military makes them an automatic badass. Yes Cal can defend him self but I think he's a bit slow at times. I miss Sebastian, his quick thinking and fighting skills would be a good asset to the team.
-Why did Louise not bring her bag after realizing that something urgent is happening before leaving the room; did she not know outside was crazy, maybe I missed that part.

Going unto the next book now so hopefully, it has bigger kick.

Adam and Thomas are too wise and mature to be 9 years old. It's refreshing and inspiring to hear them share encouraging words of wisdom between each other. I love how they discuss God, war, life, and how sometimes the lessons their parents taught them were different way but similar. Through their differences they never argue, they know they'll see their familys again and they never loss hope.
I love how this book show how education and the importance of learning then and now is vastly different. Nowadays many of us don't know anything, and these boys up us to shame. Technology should have made learning easier but it has made many of slow to learn and properly understand.

Great story. Enzo reminds me of Pope from the Animal Kingdom TV show. For a crazy person, he is without a doubt romantic with Tex, especially when he thinks Tex is unhappy. His sweetness is adorable.

The only thing I felt was too much was the torture scenes, I love a good torture if the person deserves it but, the victims didn't do that much to deserve this kind-of extreme pain, especially the "send a message scene".

I wish what happened to Enzo during to 2 man raid that happened to Tex instead just to see him lose his shit. Can't wait for the rest of the series to be released, and thankfully, each book is a standalone so I'm not left feeling incomplete.😊

This story was wondering. Kenneth Obi performance was spot on as always, his voice for Pax and his friends was my favorite. However Mack's voice was cringed and weird.

TW: the series has heavy mention of graphic r@p÷ and abuse which maybe too much for some. In fact the first passage is Austin trying to get away from a known r*pist/abuser. Thankfully his plan failed and he got what he deserved as well as others.

The trio was beautiful, and their found family was wholesome filled with loved, and the strength to take care or each other equally. Them finding new friends in times of trouble and worry was perfect.
Pax oh I wish you were real and we were friends, you're just the kindest, and sweetest person someone could hope to have in their life.

Things I wanted:
*I wish there was more danger, fighting and our guys trying to survive in the wild.
* Also, I wanted to hear how the cabinets reacted to Pax.
