Historia
A New York Times best-selling journalist sets out to explore our addiction to the quantification of everything and ends up confronting his own addiction to certainty. In the quiet of quarantine, he decides to choose ease, rather than control - pursuing habits and hobbies that bring joy and “tickles” to each and every moment - and finds peace of mind, renewed creativity, and deepened relationships are the reward.

Insightful and restorative
Revisado: 11-14-24
I like to thank the author in all sincerity, for having the courage to change his original book idea to writing this book, the book that needed to be written. Also to all that helped in making this book become a reality.
This book found me when I needed it the most (Now).
If you're tired of chasing the shadows of yesterday and tomorrow, always facing life like it is some sort of productivity machine, checking off task always focused on getting to the bottom of a never ending list, and or stuck in a world of numbers and trying to objectify life. Then I recommend taking the time to read or listen to the refreshing views of the author and to chew on them.
Definitely a book that is going to be on replay in my book list. Beautiful book!

Historia
In her late 20s, Cait Flanders found herself stuck in the consumerism cycle that grips so many of us: earn more, buy more, want more, rinse, repeat. Even after she worked her way out of nearly $30,000 of consumer debt, her old habits took hold again. When she realized that nothing she was doing or buying was making her happy - only keeping her from meeting her goals - she decided to set herself a challenge: she would not shop for an entire year. The Year of Less documents Cait's life for 12 months during which she bought only consumables.

A real help to bring simplicity and focus to life.
Revisado: 01-06-23
Great book, the focusing question helps to focus and calm the anxiety in my mind. I wish the author would have written more on the applications to social and personal life, rather than a business and productivity, but the author does sprinkle many different applications throughout.
Again, a very helpful book that is already helping me so much.

Historia
Interfaith marriages fail more often than same-faith partnerships. So what are the chances of survival for the ultimate mixed marriage - one between religious and nonreligious partners? Nearly 20 percent of Americans now self-identify as nonreligious, including millions who are married to religious believers. Despite the differences, many of these marriages succeed beautifully. In this landmark book, popular author and secular humanist Dale McGowan explores some of the stories of these unions.

New to mixed relationship
Revisado: 07-20-22
As a new Catholic convert and a new father, me and my wife are now finding ourselves with different opinions and views. It has been an issue that has come bursting out a few times and hardly ever in a good way. As we seek guidance from both religious and non religious sources for guidance, this book has helped me so much. It’s helped me identify some issues we are having currently. It’s given me more of framework to communicate my concerns to my non religious partner. It’s also helped me to look ahead and see issues that might be of concern later, especially as our son grows older. To find this book in a time of desperate need has been a blessing for my relationship and my spirit. I will probably buy the physical book to keep as a reference.

9 Days Sober
Revisado: 12-17-20
Got this book when I was already 9 days sober, looking for motivation and some pointers. This book was a good pat on the back and gave me some great pointers for moving forward. I’ll probably give it another listen in a week or two just to keep the information fresh in my head while going through the holiday season.
