Historia
In June 2021, a senseless event upends the lives of hundreds of men and women, all passengers on a flight from Paris to New York. Among them: Blake, a respectable family man, though he works as a contract killer; Slimboy, a Nigerian pop star tired of living a lie; Joanna, a formidable lawyer whose flaws have caught up with her; and Victor Miesel, a critically acclaimed yet commercially unsuccessful writer who suddenly becomes a cult hit. All of them believed they had double lives. None imagined just how true that was.

Incredible new concept but
Revisado: 02-20-25
So so boring. I kept waiting for some twist as I was promised and it fell pretty flat and although there were so many intellectual elements and thought provoking concepts it was also really really boring. A little too violent in some brief parts.

Historia
The Girl of Sugar Beach is the most watched documentary in television history - a riveting, true-life mystery that unfolds over 12 weeks and centers on a fascinating question: Did Grace Sebold murder her boyfriend, Julian, while on a Spring Break vacation, or is she a victim of circumstance and poor police work? Grace has spent the last 10 years in a St. Lucian prison, and reaches out to filmmaker Sidney Ryan in a last, desperate attempt to prove her innocence. As Sidney begins researching, she uncovers issues that were all overlooked during the original investigation.

Excellent who dunnit with a modern take
Revisado: 01-18-25
Refreshing to read a suspense novel that isn’t littered with the F word and overtly descriptive sexual scenarios. Loved the idea of a true crime documentary set up. Really on the pulse. Wish books didn’t have so much GD and Jesus Christ used as expletives. Although it didn’t end how I wanted it to at all it didn’t take away from being a good listen and suspense the entire way to the end.

Historia
My fiancé brought me tea and scrambled eggs in bed that morning, and we snuggled together, talking about buying our rings, and about our perfect wedding next year. Then we headed into town. He held my hand and gazed at the ring I liked best, a smile spreading slowly over his face. Then a glass of bubbly to celebrate. I felt flushed, excited and ready for the rest of my life with the man I loved. We race to get on the train home. It screams to a halt and I run towards its open doors. Made it. I think he’s right behind me — but when I turn around, he’s gone.

Kept me interested the entire time but spoiler below
Revisado: 01-11-25
Okay so this book kept me interested all 10 hours or whatever it was. The writing and narrating was great. Not vulgar or laced throughout with profanities like so many books especially in this genre. However I don’t really like 95% of the characters. And basically nobody believes in commitment 🤣
3 broken off weddings, some cheating, fake pregnancies and a death. So while I enjoyed reading it the whole time because I wanted to figure it out… I actually don’t like the story ending at all. Both can be true. I can highly recommend without liking it. At least being happy with the characters

Liked loved every bit. Never actually read the book just relied on the movies especially the Mickey Mouse one 😅 this helped bring me the beauty of the Christmas spirit.

So slooooow repetitive and pretty ridiculous
Revisado: 12-11-24
Since we have ratings for music and movies I really wish we could do this for books. This has like 45 F words and it’s just annoying and lazy. So slow. The plot was weird with not really wrapping up relationships or the purposes for them even being discussed. No relevancy. Don’t waste your time. I listened until there was only 3 hours left and after the 4th repeated F U in a row I realized this was just garbage

Original plot. The bad guys reasons weren’t new but this was told in a new way. Confusing about the rewind and fast forward chapter titles but didn’t seem to interfere with understanding the plot.

Historia
Rare-book dealer Ashlyn Greer’s affinity for books extends beyond the intoxicating scent of old paper, ink, and leather. She can feel the echoes of the books’ previous owners—an emotional fingerprint only she can read. When Ashlyn discovers a pair of beautifully bound volumes that appear to have never been published, her gift quickly becomes an obsession. Not only is each inscribed with a startling incrimination, but the authors, Hemi and Belle, tell conflicting sides of a tragic romance.

I needed a good book. Something with an original story without nasty characters and disgusting plots and language. This was what so many of us want more of, thank you thank you. Such a great performance as well.

The perfect neighborhood can be the perfect place to hide… Who wouldn’t want to live in Brighton Hills? This exclusive community on the Oregon coast is the perfect mix of luxury and natural beauty. Stunning houses nestle beneath mighty Douglas firs, and lush backyards roll down to the lakefront. It’s the kind of place where neighbors look out for one another. Sometimes a little too closely…

Same old same but doesn’t mean it’s bad
Revisado: 11-02-24
“I put on a sexist princess show” 😂😂 the virtue signaling of all these feminist authors is so cringe. Just write a book. The language is always so filthy and rare is the character that is moral. I know that’s not why people are reading this so I know I’m the prude stepping in and making critiques but couldn’t a book have varied characters and realistic experiences but still have some sense of decency? It’s just sad that I can never find a “thriller” without a political agenda and disgusting language throughout- signed super prude uptight old fashioned middle class basic chick

Revisado: 09-17-24
Brilliant, captivating. As with all Christie books the only thing difficult to follow is who is who due to the many characters interacting. But if I didn’t know this was a new book I would 100% think it was an original Christie novel.

***Spoiler***
I’m so confused still about the ending and I’ve looked all over the internet for clarification but can’t find any. How is Cane Summers? Isn’t he old? How then could he possibly pull off all of these murders that require so much physicality, jumping out of windows and fighting in general? But even more strange how could he possibly impersonate Bobby who is a young actor? I’ll say this too… why does the book suggest that America will forgive Bobby for being gay but Hollywood won’t? Isn’t Hollywood the safest place for a gay person?? The gay part was a weird non sequitur. Maybe if this took place in the 80’s or earlier but that “surprise” was silly in the way Bobby protected it. Like he wouldn’t admit to being gay while his life is in the balance. Anyway when Cane killed the juror in the beginning to take his place he never described him as old. He made it seem like he was the young aloof guy not someone old.
