This book runs from his earliest memories as 4 a year old, in impressive detail, every year though 12 years old and then through high school and college. Then continuing through his adventures and trails that brought him to the end of the Boear Wars. The performance by the reader was very pleasant and skilled. It was very easy to pretend that Winston himself was reading the book to me, as the reader spoke in the same accent and rhythm as Winston. I had no clue that Winston embarked on so many travels across oceans and continents. His recounts of .... blood, victory, anxiety, whit, youthful depression, interpersonal conflict, all amongst the discomforts of the weather of Cuba, india, and the antarctic ocean.... made his humanity undoubtable.

I highly recommend this book to those who aren't history buffs, and love tales of adventure and life amongst men with a good supply of scotch whiskey and cigars.

great description but it's so descriptive it's easy to loose track of the plot. easy to listen to since it's descriptiveness is very entertaining.

I WAS soft on abortion

Finished this in one shift. I w was very soft on abortion but after reading this book I feel extremely strongly against abortion as it is a much more violent and malevolent practice that and then I truly conjured probably Justin because I've never heard it in one sentence like this. this book has brought me closer to God and I will likely join this huge effort and and holy effort and fighting this gruesome and terrible evil much love for you Mrs. Gill! I have nothing against people with lisps but please don't read professionally if you do.

otherwise, I absolutely love this book! impressive research on the common slang used in 1864! I wish there was more alternate history books on audible, but I can only complain so much.

An ending that will make a macho man cry!!

I'm so grateful that, in the end, you choose to be a father and die of old age. I'm 21 and have always had a stable home life; near zero of my peers can say the same. I see how I was able to avoid total collapse from OTC drugs addiction because of their stable relationship. I also see my peers collapse because they don't have that supportive stability at home. Point being, I greatly appreciate that you have been a father to your kids and I know that you know that they have something few other kids have and how big of a difference that makes in their lives.

Dinesh is my favorite perspective of the world.

in this book, Dinesh draws from his childhood, how he grew up in a Democratic Socialist society and his expertise from spending countless hours reading in the history section of the the library. A must read balenced viewpoint of the current political crisis that faces our country.
