overall a wonderful Intro to Sagittarius
Revisado: 02-28-23
the narrator's voice is a bit robotic, but it is manageable. the Information in the book is easily digestible and serves as a wonderful introduction to the zodiac overall with of course a highlight on Sagittarius as well as its cusps. for it only being 3 hours long, there was a lot of knowledge packed in.

Historia
In The End Is Always Near, Dan Carlin looks at questions and historical events that force us to consider what sounds like fantasy; that we might suffer the same fate that all previous eras did. Will our world ever become a ruin for future archaeologists to dig up and explore? The questions themselves are both philosophical and like something out of The Twilight Zone.

Dan Carlin - Master Story-Teller
Revisado: 01-12-20
The End Is Always Near: I cant think of a book that is more relevant to the times we are facing now. This collection of stories were brought to life in Dan's signature voice and style of narration and they dive deep into world history and how the apocalypse has been brought forth into the world at the hands of men through War time and again. It leads all the way up to modern day and how we have set the stage of the world on top of a powder keg that we continuously dare our enemies to light. A fascinating book and I encourage any lovers of history and politics to read and share.

a bit too bias but good for a Lewis Fan
Revisado: 08-05-19
I love C.S. Lewis. I feel he is the greatest author and thinker of our time. However I am nowhere near the superfan as is the professor giving this lecture. His rhythm in his speech is strained and overexcited as he runs out of breath in his attempts to convey his enthusiasm for Lewis, which makes listening to him a bit difficult. I was in the market for a more broad and unbiased view of Lewis' life and writings, showing a full spectrum of understanding not only of his direct intention but of its impact on the world in its many forms. instead, what is delivered is a superfan speech who idolizes the author in all of his works as being "perfect" and glorifying a religious view that Christianity is the only way to salvation. the professor says that he ,"will not preach to you", (the listener), however that is exactly what he does at many points in the lecture. There were many moments in the lecture which did have great insight and information so I am grateful to having it exist at all. It did provide a handful of "Ahah" moments that did broaden my understanding of his writings that I know and piqued my interests of those I have not read yet. Overall, I am happy to have listened to it, but it was not what I was expecting.

better than the Great Courses
Revisado: 08-01-19
getting ready to host my own podcast, I drove into a collection of books speaking on conversation. this has been the best so far. a strong focus on humor and what people find funny, not only does this book make for an entertaining read, it also gives productive excercises that one can take to task to actually improve their conversations with others. I highly recommend it to everyone.

an Emotional Eyeopener to world not talked about
Revisado: 06-26-19
Ms. Pat is such an amazing personality. I loved when she did guest spots on the multitude of Podcasts that I listen to. She always brought so much culture with her and a viewpoint that the hosts were never accustomed to. When I heard about her autobiography on Your Mom's House, and what her origins had been, I was compelled to learn more about her Journey and what circumstances gave her one of the largest hearts in the comedic circuit. Rabbit did not disappoint on any level. I cried at so many points in this book as I pictured her childhood, beyond that, I cried imagining my own children being brought up in her same story. Ms. Pat does an unbelievably brilliant job of sharing her innocence as a child with you and how she had to make the decisions she did. She brings to light the plight of so many young women in the world being subject to a man's world and the pressure to perform and please, and further, the difficulty of breaking such an attachment. From a baby to adulthood, you see how her greatest wish was to protect others from how she was raised and to truly wave the flag that anyone can do anything if you have the courage to dream.

Mackenzie Allen Phillips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation, and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later, in this midst of his great sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack one wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change his life forever.

a Good first step toward Enlightenment
Revisado: 07-14-17
the book is beautifully written and read. Raised a Catholic, I had enough of feeling guilt for my faith and left my textbook understanding of God for a more personal relationship. Often avoiding Christ due to a negative upbringing, I favored a direct connection to the divine. this did wonders for me for spirituality but the relationship lacked a level of explanation. Becoming a father, I found that Christ was the missing link between me and the all powerful. I did not fully realize this until I was given this book to read many years ago. It brought a level of reality to my relationship as I realized the love for my child is the same love God had through Christ for us. We would sacrifice ourselves to save our children and this book helps bring that to light. Following the narrative of the story you learn a deeper understanding of faith, one that translates too clearly to all of us through tragedy and the journey of healing.

a captivating and entertaining Epic
Revisado: 02-21-17
brilliantly summarized, this version of the Mahabharata finds its underlying stories and morals beautifully translated and conveyed. along with each chapter their is a summary which breaks down the true meaning of the passage as well as historic facts that help explain the passage through astrology and culture. these summaries also debate philosophical view points that truly help the reader grasp the full scenario in its entirety. I highly recommend this title as it is clear, precise, endearing, and very entertaining. at the end of the epic you feel that you know all of the characters deeply and you can see how their archetypes live on in your very own life.
