Historia
In September 2007, Elissa Wall, the star witness against polygamous sect leader Warren Jeffs, gave captivating testimony of how Jeffs forced her to marry her first cousin at age 14. This harrowing account proved to be the most compelling evidence against Jeffs, showing the harsh realities of this closed community and the lengths to which Jeffs went in order to control the sect's women. Now, in this courageous memoir, Wall tells the incredible story of how she emerged from the confines of the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints and helped bring one of America's most notorious criminals to justice.

The honesty of the story
Revisado: 08-02-24
This story broke my heart. I couldn’t stop listening as I needed to hear how things turned out. I hope that anyone in a situation of hopelessness will hear this tale and reach for the courage to get help. The story is well laid out and narrated well.

The chilling truth
Revisado: 12-27-23
Just when you think you can’t be shocked, a new persons story comes out. It is so sad that people get hurt when all they were looking for was goodness.

Historia
Mike Rinder’s parents began taking him to their local Scientology center when he was five years old. After high school, he signed a billion-year contract and was admitted into Scientology’s elite inner circle, the Sea Organization. Brought to founder L. Ron Hubbard’s yacht and promised training in Hubbard’s most advanced techniques, Rinder was instead put to work swabbing the decks. Still, Rinder bought into the doctrine that his personal comfort was secondary to the higher purpose of Hubbard’s world-saving mission.

Enlightening
Revisado: 05-23-23
I have missed the pod cast from Mike and Leah so I thought I’d give this book a listen. There was some things I already knew from the show, but hearing the whole story start to finish was amazing. The strength to go forward would have been so difficult, I could only hope to be so strong. I was angry, sad and then happy while listing. So happy for the freedom found and empowerment to help others. I find some of my own challenges in life don’t seem so insurmountable now. Thanks for sharing your life stories. I hope it helps more people free themselves of Scientology domination. I think the story puts a perspective on life in general. People are what make life worth living so be kind and find happiness.
