Putting It Together chronicles the two-year odyssey of creating the iconic Broadway musical Sunday in the Park with George. Through conversations between Lapine and Sondheim, as well as most of the production team, and with a treasure trove of personal photographs, sketches, script notes, and sheet music, the two Broadway icons lift the curtain on their beloved musical. Putting It Together is a deeply personal remembrance of their collaboration and friendship and the highs and lows of that journey, one that resulted in the beloved Pulitzer Prize-winning classic.

Truthfully Engaging
Revisado: 09-25-24
As a theater enthusiast myself, I recount the many projects and production that didn’t see the light of day. I often ask myself, whether is this for real? Up to what extent does creativity be lived and fight for it to come alive. This audiobook is assuring, that what I feel as an artist is valid. In the service for the arts, thank you James, Stephen and George for fighting for your art to be seen and heard, even though sometimes in the process you’re wading through fits of uncertainty, disappointments and discouragement. Thank you for letting us understand you as an artist and in the process we have seen a dimension of life in the minds of the artists, through cerebral as it seems.

Historia
There is now no doubt that not only is Waiting for Godot the outstanding play of the 20th century, but it is also Samuel Beckett's masterpiece. Yet it is both a popular text to be studied at school and an enigma. The scene is a country road. There is a solitary tree. It is evening. Two tramp-like figures, Vladimir and Estragon, exchange words. Pull off boots. Munch a root vegetable. Two other curious characters enter. And a boy. Time passes. It is all strange yet familiar.

Historia
In Oscar Wars, Michael Schulman chronicles the remarkable, sprawling history of the Academy Awards and the personal dramas—some iconic, others never-before-revealed—that have played out on the stage and off camera. Unlike other books on the subject, each chapter takes a deep dive into a particular year, conflict, or even category that tells a larger story of cultural change, from Louis B. Mayer to Moonlight. Schulman examines how the red carpet runs through contested turf, and the victors aren't always as clear as the names drawn from envelopes.

It’s so wonderful to learn the rudiments of directing actors as a craft and an art form that invites novitiates to try it an demystify the acting process. The teachings were practical, humane and positively encouraging to those who are beginners of the trade. What a great influencer of the common good, both for directors and actors!
